    Afternoon everyone,
just popped back to catch up while i eat my lunch.
I realised how hungry i was and realised i`d not eaten today and i fancied something quick and bad so i have a nice cuppa and a crisp sandwich by my side :D

I tackled the bedroom and i`m nowhere near finished yet as i started to dust and noticed that the windows looked grubby so i started scrubbing the frames before i cleaned the glass, the seal has gone in the big pane so thats something else that needs to be sorted out - why does everything seem to need doing at once?

On a brighter note we`ve just booked our holiday in Cornwall this year, i didn`t think we would manage to get away but now we`ve something to look forward to (and save for) We won`t be going until September when it`s a bit quieter and we wil be staying somewhere that we have stayed before too, the people who own the place are lovely and always send us a card at Christmas, when they heard one of our doggies passed away a while ago they sent a lovely sympathy card too.

Better get back to the grindstone or else dinner will be late tonight, we will be having omelettes with peppers and whatever else needs using up in with cheese on top and spicy potatoe wedges YUM!
    Have a lovely afternoon everyone.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Been for the beauty treatments, miracles accumplished, but the impossible take a little longer.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Very interesting though, the lady who did my pedicure also does massage and reflexology, and we were talking and she was saying how much your feet tell about you, being naturally [STRIKE]noisy [/STRIKE]curious I said so what do my feet tell you, she had a look and said, your shoulders/neck are tight, "yes, too much time on here", and you have problems with your knee, "right again", then we talked about the feet/ankles swelling and she then felt the area for the gland that produces anti-inflammatory naturally (I didn't know we had one) and said it was grainy, , calcium deposits can sit at the end of the nerves, and stop them flowing properly, so gave the area a massaage to help, there were 100's (well she did say the exact number but I can't remember that) of nerve endings in the foot:eek: . Whether it does anything or not I don't know, but it couldn't hurt, and I enjoyed the massage anyway.

Right off to town in a mo, just had another collection for Freecycle, as someone said, saved us a trip to the dump.

    Take care - DG

  • Popping back to say that yay the throw is done! And looks rather nice, if I say so myself;) although I did have the usual problem of it slipping and sliding all over the place. It's done though, hooray, so I can pack it up and forget it now.

Aussie, forgot to say how much I'm enjoying the holiday pics. Sadly one of my friends DOES have a back much like that  , it gave me such a shock when he took his shirt off (pipe down, you at the back - he was having physio treatment) he has a bit of a reputation with the ladies but I'm afraid it didn't appeal to me at all....

Was wondering how Bargain Rzl got on last night - half our choir was missing from the practice because they'd managed to blag tickets to hear Bryn Terfel.

Right, must get on, the towels need folding and put back in the airing cupboard.

    See you!

Made DD a couple ofstuffed tortillas for early lunch and then trying out the split yellow pea soup I made in the slow cooker.

Our house is up for sale and also the one next door which is SSTC for the second time.

A billboard has just gone up for a house across the street!

Feel as if we will never sell this house.

I am glad you got some sleep and that you had a look at the depression thread.

DH is giving me a lift to Aldi in a few minutes.

    See you later.

Hi Mrs F - it was great! It was a really good production, though there were a few bits I couldn't quite see from the lofty heights of the cheaper seats (LOL!) Falstaff is one of my favourite operas anyway, and most of the singers were really good.

Bryn was hilarious :D I have heard him sing the same role at the Royal Opera House but that was quite a few years ago and I enjoyed last night's production much more.

There was a bit of a drama in the middle of Act 2 when somebody sitting in the Circle was taken seriously ill, and they had ambulance people trying to attend to him DURING the performance with equipment that was making quite a disruptive noise. Fortunately the theatre management had the good sense to hold off starting the next scene until they had finished and taken him off to hospital. The delay was about 10 or 15 minutes, and I was a bit worried that I would miss my train back to London, but I made it just in time.

It was my first trip to Milton Keynes and I didn't realise the theatre was such a long walk from the station  I'd have worn comfy shoes if I'd known!

Thanks for asking anyway, Mrs F - I could go on for hours about the operas I see, but I suspect there aren't that many people interested, and the OS Daily Thread isn't really the place for it :o however I'm sure once in a while won't hurt :) I hope your friends thought it was worth missing choir practice for :D

    hiya ladies

have to confess that i've got nothing done today - I am feeling constantly exhausted over the last few days and just having a bath has taken it all out of me. Sorry to moan. Been feeling a bit yucky too - think i must have caught a bug.

just popped into say hello. was going to go shopping as fancied roast chicken for dinner - but can't face leaving the house or cooking.

right -i'm off to the sitting room to spend some quality time with my tv remote :D

given up OS for today :D

  • Hi everyone

Am really excited..... have just made banana bread for the 1st time today and it smells lovely. Still has 20mins left to bake, but my dd's are stood at the oven waiting.:rotfl:

Been a quite and lazy day for me. Have done a load of washing and it's nearly dry on the line and have been 'round to a friends for lunch. Have made a monster beef stew and it's bubbling away nicely ready for tea. Managed to use up all the older veg at the bottom of the veg rack. It's been 10days since I've thrown any food away and I'm really pleased with myself. :ADD2 still very clingy after being poorly so soon as DH home from work I'll get the beds changed and do a few jobs.

Have got loads planned in the garden tomorrow if the weather is permitting. If not, I'll have to do the basket of ironing. Finger's crossed for brillant sunshine!

    Roll on the weekend!:j

r mac - hope you're feeling better soon - I'm sure the weather doesn't help at the min!

Well, its another week over, doesn't look like I got the job I went for this week, never mind. Does something tell you I like being at home :rotfl: If it wasn't for the money I could get used it it.

Have done the usual WM, DW and now have large white loaf in the BM, don't often make white but DSD is coming tonight and although she will eat brown bread we get the huge sigh and rolling of eyes as only a 13yo can do

Have made a note to myself never to buy flour at the Co-op again, nearly needed to take a mortgage out on it, did go to Aldi yesterday but thought for some reason they were removing the flour, man with 2 trolleys filling up with SR and plain, got to check out and nooooooo it was man buying all the flour, he had 90 bags of each:eek:   noticed he had chef's trousers on so guess aldi is cheaper than their suppliers.

Have also made lemon drizzle cake, well lemon and lime cos bag of lemon and limes was on offer in aldi. And made weetabix brownies, cos DSD loves them, have put them into my spreadsheet that works out the carbs for me and they are ok for her to have for supper (DSD is diabetic and wanting to go on insulin plump, therefore we have to work out all the carbs she eats)

((((huggs to everyone who needs one)))))) and for everyone else, have a great weekend.
