Wow Glen thats good news.
Let us know on your decision.0 -
well surprise SURPRISE
Bellway have just phoned us with a much better offer
Same as I listed above but they have offered much more for ours (well over market value)
decision time
Thats great news glen8. The house looks lovely - wish it was round here (especially at that price!). Did you never hear back from Persimmion after their first offer? Let us know what you decide.
Consnmattsmom let us know how you get one as well!0 -
They have come back with there first offer which we have declined.
Offered us £100000 for ours - we know we would get £108000 at least if we hold out on the market.
They left the price of theres at £169995 but said they would pay deposit of 5%. They would anyway if we had sold.
We have told them to offer more on ours and we could have a deal. Even £103000 for ours we would accept.
What are our chances do you think? What worries me is there are only 2 properties of the style we want left on the development. Quite a few other more expensive ones, however the car park was packed out as we passed there a while earlier.0 -
what do you mean 5% deposit? it's a part-ex isn't it0
-
Yeah its part ex. They have said £100000 for ours, we owe £94000 mortgage.
They say then the pp of ours is £169995 and need to pay £8500 deposit and have mortgage for rest but then they will pay the deposit.
Is that not how it works?0 -
Wow, sorry to intrude on your thread, that 5 bed for under 200k!! And a 3 bed for 170k.
Here Persimmon have this 5 bed available:

Notice the price difference.....!! :eek:0 -
Blimey am I glad I dont live by you. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Looks very nice and luxurious though.0 -
Blue Monkey - they may be expensive but they are real rooms too! A lot of these cheaper 4 beds don't have any rooms over 3.25m wide (my conservatory is wider than that!). I'd have a concern that the rooms will feel a bit long and thin once furniture is in.0

A bit like this Kez... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-18083324.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy Picture 3.
Makes me feel like breathing each time I look at these pictures, LOL!! This is price is for a 30% share it seems - they just can't shift them down here.
Or... you could choose this one if you want real rooms.....

I can't believe it is sold STC though, it only went on about 4 weeks ago!! Apparently these people are downsizing.

This one has been on the market for well over a year and the price has not gone down. makes yu wonder if they need the 1.2 million pounds. It is right next to the church graveyard, I don't think I'd want it even if I won the lottery. LOL!!0 -
The first ones aren't bedrooms they are cabins!
The second and third are lovely but do have a slightly different price point! Mind you - the modern developer would probably put 8 new 4 bed homes on that land footprint and sell for 1.6 million not 1 million!
So long as people are happy that's fine. We are all different. I just hope everything fits 'properly' when they move in.
Just off to look at the dimensions of our first home which was a modern one as maybe they aren't too bad, we have just been spoiled. I'll be back....
Our first home had bedrooms with a 3m in one dimension, and they were small but OK. Our lounge was 5 by 5 though. I'd say a 3.25 width for that room could be annoying from a practical angle - especially if there is a family living there as opposed to a couple - as our 5 x 5 wasn't large by any means.0
