In fact, you might even want to continue making those calls via BT after Primus goes live because they'll qualify you for free Caller Display and 1571 (but please don't use 1571).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Yeah, we're currently on BT Together Option 1 but I didn't fancy signing up to a 12 month contract with Option 2 just to get the free evening calls. Hence, the signup to Primus.
In order to get free caller display and 1571 don't you have to make 2 chargeable calls per month (or 6 per quarter)? Does using BT's free weekend calls count towards this then ???0 -

If you think about it, that's logical because, otherwise, how would someone on the Unlimited Anytime Plan (formerly BT Together Option 3) qualify for free Caller Display/1571 if they only ever made 01, 02 or 03 calls?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Drunkstar (a BT employee) has confirmed on here that inclusive calls now count too.

Excellent news ! I'll make sure I use BT at weekends then so I don't incur caller display and 1571 charges. I expect to see my BT bills reduce dramatically once my Primus account is active. Me and the wife have also got BT credit cards so we get money knocked off our bills from that also !0 -
Hi, I'm on Primus Option 2 with Broadband and use the Orchid dialler, and without being paid by Heinz, Orchid or Primus
, I can say it's been fantastic so far for downloads, and calls routed via the cheapest provider without annoying my wife over remembering to prefix calls (Sept last year onwards).
Heinz, you were very helpful with my earlier queries, and Orchid were very helpful when I was sorting out the dialler - I keep getting emails to dial home to pick up new settings. Thanks!
Weight off my mind with bills from everywhere else going up

I'm sure the answer is buried in this thread somehwere but to save me searching could someone tell me what the Primus online billing is like?
1 Does it give full itemisation?
2 Does it give access to "recent calls" (ie. calls not yet appearing on a bill")?
3 Are there any facilities for categorising calls into different categories to assist analysis?
Plus anything of interest.
It seems that just as I'm showing interest in signing up for Primus Saver Option 2 their website is un-available. Is this a regular occurrence?
Colin
Edit:- Appologies to anyone reading this before I finished it. In an attempt format my questions I appear to have posted it prematurely.0 -

I have just signed up for Primus Saver Option 2 but, like creddish, have been unable to logon to their website to view my online bill. The website I am trying to use is www.planet-talk.co.uk.
Does anyone know why this is?0
