i got the text and let them have it on the phone and via email. The CS advisor calmly suggested that i should look elsewhere for a better deal as this is only a month to month contract. i asked for my PAC as there are certainly better deals out there for a sim only deal
Name one that does 300 xnet minutes and 300 xnet texts for £10 ,or less.0 -
I would urge all to not waste your time with customer services, they don't care - call VM's retentions department, it is their job to retain customers and they can actually do something.
Work on the fact that Virgin Media are desperate to hold onto your broadband and landline business because they've invested a lot in their cable networks.
Their mobile service is simply a resell of tmobile so they think they can afford to lose a few customers. So let them know that if you go you will take your broadband and landline service with you. I bet they will offer you your rollover minutes back.
I will be calling on monday and I expect to report back that I at least get this reversed if not an even better deal.0 -

I agree with your plan of attack, however, I think the above statement is VERY optomistic! Over the past yr VirgimMedia have been squeezing their landline and mobile customers, with minimum of 1 minute billing, getting rid of 3p/min and 3p/text to other virgin mobiles et al. I am coming to the end of my 6 month contract and will be moving to this tariff in a months time so I really hope you get it reversed, but my money would be on Virgin sticking to their guns.0 -
I still think its a great offer, Virgin actually sent me a phone when I joined. I always go over texts and never use up the minutes so it's ok by me, personally I think this is still a fantastic deal for £10 a month, cancel anytime. Where else can you get that? I have been with several other phone companies before, contract and pay as you go, and this still beats them. Thanks to the 300 free minutes I cancelled the 24 hour free phone calls on my house phone (£15 a month)and changed it to free evening and weekend calls( about £5 or £7) so I'm still quids in, any calls in the day come from my mobile.0

I can't wait for your reply, bet you're so gonna have egg on your face
As much as I don't like what Virgin are doing, I have at least kind of accepted it ain't gonna change.
I've always been happy to be a Virgin Mobile customer because I do think they provide what I want as an end user and have always been satisfied with their services when I've needed help, I also still don't think you will get a better deal than the one they offer at that price :cool:0 -
Unfortunately the billing system in a mobile company is such that you will not be able to keep rollover minutes if you are in fact removing it from the core tariff.
the only thing you can expect is 600mins/600texts per month. (where they add a product which gives 300bonus mins&texts)
it's not operationally viable to change the billing system for all but a handful of customers' accounts.
i don't use 300/300 let alone ~600/600.
what might be useful is posting on this thread similar tariffs to compare.
2 spring to mind (the o2 £15 simplicity as prev. mentioned - £15. 200mins, 400sms)
>Things to note with this tariff. MMS included in SMS allocation 1mms =4sms. International SMS also incl. 1intl sms = 4sms. Now this is pretty good if you don't use all 400, cos it means when abroad/sending MMS it's not charged extra.
>£23~ quidco. i think. no quido on Virgin offer as you have to get through customer services.
>Affordable GPRs - Limited to £1 per day. - Virgin is EXTORTIONATE at £5/mb, even at £2/mb it's expensive if you actually do any sort of browsing.
Orange £15 - 100mins, UNLIMTED SMS (this is an 18mth contract, but you get a phone) + Magic Number.
Orange £15 SIMONLY Incl MAGIC NUMBER- either of the following:
200mins/300sms.
325mins/100sms.
+Quidco. Again £1.50 max browsing charge per day - cheaper compared to Virgin.
(am sure t-mob and voda have similar offers)
Now when you look at the 300/300 from Virgin, it still beats any of the above at just £10.00
By all means complain to CS @ Virgin, but if they refuse to cave... and you're serious about saving money... then looks like this is probably the best deal (depending on your useage of course!)

Maybe, maybe not, but it's worth a try - my current deal with virgin gives me:
2Mb broadband
Free TV
Talk unlimited XL
Talk mobile
Talk international
Itemised billing
for £12 a month so it's not all bad. I find a call to retentions normally works.0 -
After a couple of emails and phone discussion when i complained about the lack of roll over they offered me either credit of £25 or a phone upto £40 value. I took the £25 credit as i could buy the phones cheaper elsewhere and did not need another cheap phone. So did not get the decision reversed by £25 is not bad for 15 minutes of rant.0

let me get this right virgin are stopping the rollover minutes for the cable deal ( Virgin 10 with 300+300)and your upset about it,why when you pay £10 for 300min and 300 txt and you do not us them, got it you want more minutes each month that your not doing to us for a tenner, thats it just figures on paper (somthing for nowt )
how else will give you 300min&300txt for a tenner ,let me think .................no one right and not roling over has well
and yes i do have one and a t-mobile flex 35 at £17.50 for life and that do's not roll over has wellthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0
