Old Gold,
it is still the cheapest out there so I (and many others I would think) will be staying put. They are bringing the deal in line with their Liberty sim which also doesn't have a rollover. It just seems to be another turn of the screw. If they increase the price to £15 then I think O2 Simplicity will prove tempting.
Why not tell VM how you feel?

Oh I see. So I probably got sent the first text by mistake because I'm on the 300 mins and 300 texts SIM-only tariff for £15/month when they did the free Virgin ADSL deal some time back."...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
I have just received a text from Virgin Mobile stating that from 28/4/08 they will no longer be rolling over unused mins for cable 300 users.
I am not happy with this since it was a great plus for me to have minutes/text that I'd already paid for rolled over rather than lost.
And I seem to remember this was a contract offered for as long as I was a VM cable user so I am well peeved that they now think they can change the terms of my contact with them.
I am also upset that they've chosen to change my contract by text!
I want to urge every cable 300 user to:
1- contact VM to voice their disatisfaction and threaten cancellation. You should also threaten to cancel your broadband and landline since these are the services virgin media are most desperate to retain.
2- Insist on a refund for the call. I don't see why VM should profit from bad business choices. Or call their freephone number 0800 0520837
Don't Forget These Are not Free Minutes They Are Just Rolling Over What You've Already Paid For!
If Cust services wont play ball you should insist on talking to their Retentions dept.
Let's all work together to show VM the power of the internet and get them to change their minds on this one.0 -
seems that all networks are using this rip off policy. If the likes of 02 and orange do this on their £35+ tariffs, do you think virgin will not do it on their £10 tariff. This is probably the cheapest 300 mins/texts tariff out there, works out 3p/min!0

Are you on the 300/300 for £10 deal offered to cable users?
I didn't get the second text and the web page announcing the change is still there http://virginmobilepeople.com/300300/0 -
Yep me too got the text telling me no more rollover from 28/04/08. I did complained to virgin mobile customer service team and threatened to cancel all my services with them, but it fell on deaf ears. They said that they would be very sorry to lose my business and agreed that I should check to see if I could get a better deal elsewhere. :rolleyes:0

Like bikeman says,
let VM know how you feel! Use the link in my earlier post. Send them an email. At the very least it will cause someone to read your distaste and email a reply. Maybe it will filter up to the fat cat supping expensive liquor and pulling on a lardy at the top of the tree. I'm sure it won't have any impact on their bonus share allocation but it made me feel better......and then the window licker said to me...0 -
i got the text and let them have it on the phone and via email. The CS advisor calmly suggested that i should look elsewhere for a better deal as this is only a month to month contract. i asked for my PAC as there are certainly better deals out there for a sim only deal0

VM reply email:
"Thanks for your email to Virgin Mobile about the loss of the rollover on your current package.
We're really sorry to hear that you feel this is going adversely affect you.
The rollover is being dropped for a couple of reasons:
-as most our customers do not in fact take advantage of the rollover
-to enable us to bring out some new deals that will be even better value for money
We can also confirm that the bundle will remain the same cost, so it won't increase to £15. This means that you're still making a saving of £60 a year by being on this package, compared to the Liberty SIM.
Also, you're still able to take advantage of other great offers like:
-up to £100 off your next phone
-the Virgin Mobile Exclusives, found at:
http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/genericContent.do?contentId=red.rewards.whychooseus.sm076
The information you've given in this email will also be fed back to the relevant people so that Virgin is aware of the impact on customers.
If there's anything else we can help you with, just reply to this email. You can also give us a call on 789 from any Virgin Mobile phone – it's just 10p, no matter how long you talk for. Or, you can call us on 0845 6000 789 from a fixed line phone. These calls are charged at local rate.
How did we do? If you'd like to give us some feedback, just click on the link below and fill in our online questionnaire. You might like to have your original email handy to read while you're doing it. We promise to use your answers to make our service the best it can be."
Needless to say that I'll be clicking on the link included to do the survey...
But how can VM provide "even better value for money" deals by doing away with rollovers of mins/texts? Complete BS!! I think I'll keep the email then fire it back at them in 6 months to ask how I've benefitted from an even better deal......and then the window licker said to me...0
