Both my daughter and I are on this deal.
Today my daughter recieved a text to say that as of 28th April the minutes and texts left unused will no longer roll over.

Got this from the virgin website.

We’ve also got some changes to your package to tell you about.

Right now, you get 300 minutes and 300 messages to use to any UK mobile network or landline (that's numbers beginning 01 and 02), at any time you choose for only £10 per month.

The new change is about what happens to the minutes and texts you don’t get around to using during the month.

From 28 April 2008, these minutes and texts will no longer roll over to the following month and will be removed if you haven’t used them, so to get the most out of your airtime package, you might like to use them all up before the end of each month.

Want to keep tabs on how many are left? You can get your balance for free, any time you like, simply by calling 789 from your mobile phone, texting ‘balance’ to 789789 or checking Your Account, right
here online.

That way, you’ll always know what you’re using and how many minutes and messages you’ve got left to spend on marathon gossip sessions, monthly chin wags and texts to brighten someone’s day. And don’t forget, you’ll have another 300 minutes and 300 texts to use the very next month!

I did not know that if you had a contract with anyone that they could change the terms to your disadvantage.
BTW I am on a 6 month contract with them and have not been told this.
  • Does this apply to the 100/100 as well?
my wife has just gone over to the 100/100 with the nokia 6300.

they are giving 30 days notice and sending by text which IIRC is OK by their Ts & Cs so if you don't like it, you can call and ask to leave. They might even offer you a better deal!

I am on the CPW cashback scheme so I cant without losing out myself. It is a pity then for us customers as I believe virgin were the only one left giving rollover. Could also be they are losing on a marketing strategy that was not used to win customers if they wanted that particular section of the market.
  • I got my text today also. It's a shame that Virgin have seen the need to do this. I had no idea that the rollover facility was costing them so much. It can only be a cost cutting exercise to increase their profits. They must have reached the critical mass of customers whereby they can now start paring back the service that they offer.

...and then the window licker said to me...

So a mass of customers withdrawing their contracts could bring about a change of attitude.

I just received a text from Virgin CS. It reads:
We're sorry, we sent you a text recently by mistake. Your Virgin Mobile minutes and messages will still roll over every month, just like normal.
    Phew! :)
