  • Just received an email from them saying they will refund the FULL amount of £210 after I threatened legal action!

    HAPPY DAYS!:j
  • I too have been duped by these con artists. I bought a train ticket through thetrainline.com, as I have done several times before. On one such occasion I was presented with a page stating that as a result of my purchase I was entitled to a £15 discount..which obviously is always welcome. I clicked to sign up and thought that was that.

Next thing I notice I have had £10 debited from my account by shopperdiscounts. After reading this thread I have emailed them and demanded they cancel my membership and refund me with immediate effect. Fingers crossed I even get a response! I feel that the companies that allow these types of near-enough scams to advertise through their websites are just as bad as the scammers themselves!

A strongly worded email will also be off to the Train Line.

I hope others read this thread before they are duped too.
  • The shoppers discount is nothing more than a scam.

My personal/email/bank details were automatically passed to them by TRAINLINE.COM when I booked a train ticket. I never signed up to this so-called discount service. DO NOT USE TRAINLINE.COM.

Still trying to recover the £70 taken from my account by "shoppers discount".

    SHOPPERS DISCOUNT ARE THIEVES!!!
  • I use Firefox as my web browser, and have a plugin called "WOT" (Web Of Trust). It recognises shoppers discount as a dodgy site, and will not allow my PC to go there. Very appropriate, it seems!

Hi everyone, can I just say I think you are all being a little bit harsh, I first signed up to shopperdiscountsandrewards in January following a pizza hut order online, and unlike most of you it seems, I actually read their small print so I knew what I was agreeing to. I agreed to a £10 per month subscription, which was easily recovered against a monthly bonus of £10 each month at Pizza Hut - with 2 young kids, this is no problem admittedly for me to make best use of (especially with kids eat free offers!!!) however they also offer the best cashback rebates on the internet.
Since January, I have regularly received cashback cheques in excess of £40 all for just my regular online shopping activity (in addition to all the £10 pizza hut cashbacks which offset the membership) and to top it all, I have another cheque due in the next month or so for my latest TV purchase at Currys, 10% = £80 cashback.
All as I can say is as long as you read the print you should never fall foul, and in actual fact, when you look at their cashback and other (such as price promise and extended warranty) offers, it is pretty good stuff!!

And, no, I don't work for them, but after 7 months, I have collected £132 in cashback at no cost so I am a very happy Shopperdiscountsandrewards customer.

I have just realized 10 pounds were taken from my bank account as membership for "shoppers discount". I bought ryanair ticket and i remember receiving voucher for money back when i book another fly but I don't remember giving them my bank details. I canceled that membership immediately. Shall I do something more? Will they really cancel it or will they keep taking it? Pleace advice

You either work for them or you are a little lacking in research capability as anyone with half a brain would use https://www.topcashback.co.uk instead and earn the same cashback without paying any of S D & Rs ripoff monthly membership fees.

.... or read the Guardian where our own Martin Lewis gives his opinion ?

If companies choose to lead their customers into this type of deal then the answer is simple - use another company.
Never ever give your card details to anyone over the phone, and check the reputation of any company you do intend to give them to.

    well to update
these stole membership fee £14.95 from me on 25 August 2011
complained immediately and got a 'declined' reply
so immediately i contacted my Credit Card company and cc'd my emails sent to https://www.RewardsFirst.co.uk to the consumer association and Trading standards
(making sure that https://www.RewardsFirst.co.uk were aware that i cc'd the emails) they then re assessed my request and have said they will refund the money immidiately...
i am adamant that i never ever ever knowingly filled in the forms they insist i had to fill in... i am almost sure that they have a means of extracting details, as i had to fill in bank details on the shop i was purchasing a product from which was:
