You joined this forum just to praise somebody who's had 57 pages of complaints? You wouldn't be advertising would you?
To be fair, I can see where he's coming from. Although they're vile scum (with some of their underhanded tactics to get people to join), they do pay out. I deliberately joined, and got two £10s and a £15 out of both Shopper Discounts and My Time (total of £70!), so I can't complain really.
Obviously I cancelled within the 30 day trial, and they haven't charged me. :T It's quite nice getting one up on these sort of companies.Im a kiebee buzz,buzz!0 -

....could'nt agree more. What on earth would be the point in joining this forum or even searching for it.......sorry dizzy but we dont believe a word of it - there is nothing good about shoppers discounts or any other compnay that charges peoples cards without letting them know that they are doing it. It is immoral, underhand and a blatant con!0 -

B****r! I only managed to get £25 out of them! However, I haven't had my card statement yet to see if they actually did cancel...0 -

I have just found I have had the £10 a month for at least five months! I don't know which company sold me out but I'm going to find out and complain alot.
I called the number but it was out of hours 8am to 8pm. It seems they get alot of calls because cancelling membership is the first option and they have an automated service to cancel which I have done.
I have sent them an email demanding a refund of everything they have stolen so I will post their responses here.
Does anyone know if they will tell me how they got my card details?0 -

I have also been scammed by this company, via Figleaves. And Figleaves being a company I thought I could trust. Starting down the road to get my money back now and will never shop at Figleaves again. I hate being scammed, I'm normally so careful.Bankruptcy and Supporters club... Member 340.

I too have been duped by shoppers discount & rewards. I vaguely recall last year buying online from M7M direct and filling out my bank details etc and recieving a cash back voucher for my next shop but I thought it was all with M&M and had not realised that I had been redirected to another page. All I wanted to do was complete the clothes order so just followed all the promts for details etc. Seems I signed up to this offers thing and I have only just noticed that £10 per month has been taken out by direct debit for a year! I just called and tried to explain but the lady informed me that I had used the voucher so I must have been aware, I tried to say that I thought it was purely something from M&M as a new customer. She then informed me that they had sent regular contact to my email account ( I cannot access my old account and havn't been able to for almost a year and so set up a different one. I informed her that I didn't know that I had signed up for a subscription and had never been on the site and therefore I had just paid out £120.00 for nothing. I was informed that my subscription had been cancelled in April this year and no further debits had been made from my bank account. I informed her that I was shocked that anything had been taken monthly from my account at all as I had not willingly agreed, I had actually been decieved whilst trying to pay M&M. I was then informed that there was plenty of info to say that I was agreeing to a monthly subscription, I would not have knowingly done so as I do not spend or have the money to spend monthly on clothes to reap any benefits and now I am depleated of £120. Basically I am left now with no positive outcome and certainly no refund as the information was evident!!!!! I beg to differ and could quite honestly cry, they are very sneaky as I truly thought I was giving my bank details to M&M and not to someone else. I have nowhere to turn now so, to all out there BE CAREFUL THAT YOU ARE NOT DIRECTED TO A DIFFERENT SITE and check your bank statements regularly, had I noticed earlier then I would have stopped it!0

I wrote the Shopper Discount people an email requesting them to refund the full amount that they've been deducting from my account. I was quite stern and straight forward in my email to them which seemed to get their attention.
Here was their reply:
Dear Miss xxxxxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Shopper Discounts & Rewards.
Our records show that you or someone with access to your credit/debit card completed an online transaction with The Trainline. After your transaction, you were offered the opportunity to join the Shopper Discounts & Rewards programme with a £15 cash back voucher and a 30 day free trial. Immediately next to the offer, the Offer and Billing Details were displayed. By entering your name, address and credit or debit card details and then clicking on the 'yes' button to accept the offer, you authorised us to charge the monthly membership fee of £10 to the credit card or debit card that was provided after your free trial period ended.
We try to make the offer as clear as possible by placing the Offer and Billing details directly next to the offer and sending out a pre-bill notification email within the 30 day trial period. However, we apologise if there has been any misunderstanding in the offer. Please be assured that we would never have received your credit or debit card details without appropriate permission from the person who agreed to the membership.
We would like to re-assure you that our sign up processes have been reviewed by CAP and they have confirmed they comply with the British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing (the CAP code). We are also members of the DMA and we maintain billing and privacy practices endorsed by leading third parties VeriSign, TRUSTe, and the Payment Card Industry.
This membership has been cancelled as of the 12/07/2011 and we have issued 3 refunds of £10 for the membership fees charged. Your refund will be credited to your credit card or debit card account within the next 10 working days. An email will follow with details on claiming any further refunds.
Your cancel confirmation number is: xxxxxx
If you require further assistance, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on our free phone number: 0800 731 9935 Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 9am-4pm.
Sincerely,
Claire

However they did NOT make it clear enough that they would be deducting £10 from my account each month. Quite the opposite.
They did send me another email which read:

I have just faxed them over a letter demanding they refund the full amount or I'll pursue with legal action. Will see what they respond with. Will be much more careful in the future when signing up to such things. Really surprised companies like this are allowed to get away with what literally feels like theft.
Good luck to everyone seeking a refund0
