I dont know whether their site has changed but the terms were pretty clear, or as clear as any of these sites are anyway, perhaps I'm just good at looking for the fine print ?!?

I submitted my claim via email, the rep who pmd me on here has confirmed that I will get the cashback by email and there is a link on my membership page to cancel before my first subscription is due.

Naturally seeing as I struggled to get the cashback approved at all without intervention I'm nervous about receiving the cheque and cancelling but I sure as hell wont be walked over if things do go awry.

    Cheers :)

Just revisited the link to see what it says:

"Provide us with a credit or debit card for your My Time Rewards benefits.
(A valid credit or debit card needs to be registered.) By providing your billing information below, you authorise My Time Rewards to use the information you provide for billing the membership fee of £10 a month until you cancel. Our secure software encrypts your information as you send it to protect you and your privacy."

"So claim all your My Time Rewards benefits... plus get your £15 cash back voucher! To get your £15 cash back voucher just make a purchase at PizzaHut.co.uk in the next 3 months. See full instructions on the next page to redeem your voucher and how to access your site and start saving today! Plus we'll send your Membership Pack email to you at your email address. Try all the benefits for the next 30 days FREE and see how much you save! There's no obligation to continue. If you are completely satisfied, do nothing and you'll be able to enjoy ongoing savings for only £10 a month and of course you have our Guarantee as described in the Offer and Billing Details! Suppliers and discounts are updated often, so visit the My Time Rewards website regularly to get the most out of your membership. Remember, there are great savings to be had all year round!"

    This is the cancelation stuff:

"To cancel your Shopper Discounts & Rewards Membership at any time click on this link to access our online Benefit Cancel Center 24 hours a day, or call Customer Service free phone at 0800 731 9935 Please note that if you cancel your Membership, you will immediately lose any benefits or discounts of the service. "

There is one more trick I'm sort of expecting from them. You get 30 days free to begin with and conveniently the cashback takes 4-6 weeks to process. The T&C are a bit vague but it says that when you cancel all benefits are lost - there's every chance that they'll say cashback is such a benefit but I'd say they are on shaky ground due to the fact the cashback has already been approved, guess I'll have to wait and see :)

    Cheers,

They know, and they know we all know, that they have no option but to refund the whole amount to each and every customer who demands it, no matter what feeble excuses they come up with. Feel safe in this knowledge, Law is Law, they have broken it not the customers, their hands are tied and they have NO CHOICE but to give a full refund.

Unless too many look to get their money back, then expect the company to fold with little or no assets left to refund anybody.

    Hi everyone

Can I just clarify a few points mentioned on here?

Shopper Discounts & Rewards has requested permission to be able to post on this thread.

As we now only allow major household name companies and companies that have been mentioned on our main site to have company representative status we've said no.

Shopper Discounts & Rewards does have the right of reply if there are any major misconceptions it feels needs addressing but that's only by contacting us directly, and giving us a statement that we can post on its behalf if we feel it's appropriate and in our site users' interests.

While it's not specifically about Shopper Discounts & Rewards please also remember the MSE-researched post we included in the weekly email a couple of years ago. If you see someone asking questions where that post may help them, please do point them to it.

    Andrea :)

My only sympathy would go to the consumers, this company NEEDS to be shut down, if just to stop any future consumers being scammed in the same way.

  • I just noticed I too was scammed by these fraudsters and I shall do my best to get my money back. I have found this contact e-mail in another forum, where one of the staff at shopper discount says contact me and I shall arrange a refund.

I hope this helps others who fall victim to these crooks.

Hi! Just wanted to share my experience with these crooks!
I noticed £10 coming out of my bank so called to find out who was taking it. Bank told me about SD&R and advised I call them as they have been taking payments since August 2009. £190 in total.

I called and spoke to a woman who right away knew I was calling to cancel.

After a lenghty discussion she cancelled my membership and agreed to refund the last 3 payments within the next 10 days. Not happy with this I demanded the rest of my money back.

I said it was all a con and I know they have to give me a full refund. The response was "If we were a con we wouldn't be here at this time of night taking calls"

    Fuming.

She has sent me a claim form to send back. I am going to post this back tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on.

by law you can get all your money back. i've posted earlier with a few paragraphs. email them that exact passage and you will get all your money back :)
  • I got a reply to my email that I sent yesterday to *mary@shopperdiscountsandrewards.co.uk* They have credited the money back to my account, I think it important to point out to others the reason for the debit.
Our records show that on 19 January 2011, after completing a transaction on https://www.ryanair.com, you would have seen a banner on the Ryanair confirmation page which read, "Your purchase is complete. Click here to claim your £10 cash back incentive on your next purchase". By clicking on this banner, you would have been taken to the Shopper Discounts & Rewards offer page. On this page, you were offered the opportunity to join Shopper Discounts & Rewards, which was free for the next 30 days, and you were also offered a £15 cash back voucher towards your next purchase/booking at Ryanair which you accepted. You agreed to the membership by entering your name, address, credit/debit card information, your email address twice and a personalised password twice and then clicking on the "YES" button on the page. Immediately to the right of the "YES" button the "Offer and Billing Details" blah blah blah.........

"By entering my password as my electronic signature and clicking "YES", I have read and agree to the Terms Of Service and the Offer and Billing Details and authorise Shopper Discounts & Rewards to use my name, address and credit or debit card information that I provided for billing and benefit processing. I understand that the first 30 days are free and that I will be billed £10 a month thereafter."

*So beware anybody booking a Ryanair flight, DO NOT BE TRICKED INTO THIS SCAM, read the small print.*
