Sony Ericsson W800i on O2 contract?

Comments

  • I'm currently a PAYG customer with O2 (have a Siemens SL55 which we won) - thinking of going on contract and go for a W800i - is the general consensus of opinion to ring O2 themselves and say "I'm a PAYG etc etc (was a business customer with you in the past) - what can you offer me to sign up on a contract?" Or is it better to go to One Stop / CPW / The Link etc etc.........

    Thanks in advance....

Phoned o2 earlier today and got the discount 500 plan (500 xnet anytime mins, 400 texts). Asked for phone upgrade - specifically the W800i, was told its the newest out and I couldnt have that model. Persisted, talking about my reasons for wanting that particular model.

Was then offered it for £100 upgrade price. Bit too pricey for me unfortunately I said, and mentioned that it must have gone up in price as I saw it for £30 on the o2 website recently (as part of new online contracts), and that I'll probably leave it and have a think. He then chatted to the supervisor and came back with a price of £50 for the W800i, which I was happy to pay :-)

By the way, was previously on the Online Offpeak deal at £25 pm and have only been with o2 for 1 year if that helps anyone.

Well has another little chat with them today, this time I did not try to beat around this bush as I already had my cancelation set for next month, told them what I wanted, they said it would be a £50 upgrade fee, I said would not take it inless my discount 500 package went down from £25 to £20, they tride to get me to have some samsung phone on free upgrade, I said not intrested, and ended up getting the W800i on the discount 500 package @ £20 a month.

I would of been happy with the discount 500 package at £25 for that phone if the phone was free, but they would not give me that, instead they gave it me for £10 less over the year than what I was prepered to pay. :j

Would o2 200/250 etc includes 0844 numbers in free minutes?

    Many thanks

    Sunil,
0870 and 0845 numbers are part of 02 contract minutes, logically 0844 should be, but if I were you I would contact them to be sure.
They have always included non-geographic numbers because they used to be part of BT, who started the "robbery", lets hope they dont realise they are missing out on a a cash-cow.

  • I called on the 12th and got free upgrade ( i just rang up and asked for my PAC code, but said i didn't really want to leave but i'd seen better deals elsewhere) also got half price line lental and doudle minutes for 3 months! i'm on Talk 200 i think ... it's about £25 a month usually.....

The phone is wicked by the way!
used to have a K700, that doesn't even compare.

I've got this phone on virgin. Excellent phone, I hope you all enjoy yours too. I've not put it down for the last week. One question though, anyone seen any decent covers for it that doesn't make it look too bulky?
