    Afternoon all

    SMOKEY hugs to you.

HUGS to anyone else who wants one. All those of you with exoh's I don't know how you cope with them.

We had loads of snow yesterday and then it promptly melted, so disappointing. Was lovely and sunny when I came home from work, since I've got up it's grey but dry. It was so cold last night, kept wrapping my poor patients up with layers of blankets.

Off to have a bath in a minute. OH in bed as he's on nights now. Am not impressed at the mo that he doesn't seem to think housework applies to him:mad: . Am meeting Mum and Dad in Debenhams later for coffee. Need to find some more t-shirts for our holiday so DS and I are going shopping in a bit. DS will probably have sausages and veg for tea. I'll probably have more toast!

    Have a good day all.

just taking a break from peeling a mountain of spuds and carrots with a coffee and a hot x bun - yum

dd22 has dressed up as an easter bunny - white top and trousies, rabbit mask and a scrunched up paper bag stuck on her bum - and made the easter egg (actually fun size mars bars) hunt. d'you remember a couple of days ago when I said tht I hoped it wasn't too hot as they all melted last year ..... it is hailing outside at the moment so dd22 has set it up in the living room. dd11 and exoh will be here soon but we can't get hold of dd18 so dgs3 not here yet

    sigh back to the peeling

Good afternoon all! Not much OS going on here today - although WM has been on (and TD of course!) plus am waiting for bread to be ready. DGS not wanting her nap this afternoon, so may venture out to look at lambs on nearby farm. However, need to force myself out with two bouncy dogs first - much rather stay on here!
((HUGS)) to Smoky and family, plus anyone else who needs one just now.

    Afternoon all....
Well it's absolutely rotten weather in Sunny Sussex and our weekend was ruined by ill health and weather. We'll still be off to the in-laws to drop off the charity bags as they have a collection on Wed, and the rubbish bags will get to the dump after work one day this week.
Not up to much else, got some work to do before I go back to school tomorrow but other than that we'll have a lazy one-OH is killing zombies on the Wii as I type.

Me again. I mentioned to XDH that my washing machine is playing up and he offered to look at it for me. (insert "knock me down with a feather smiley here") He's just had a look and cleaned out the inlet filters and tinkered about. It is better but not right so I will have to pay someone to have a look at it tomorrow. While XDH was here he also took DS's spare mattress to the tip for me. So, all round a result and all it cost me was a dark chocolate toblerone! :j I'm still suspicious though because I never know what mood he will be in when he talks to me. Since he's being nice I wonder what he has planned.

Need to get to the video store this pm. I rented "Tell No-one" on Friday and it was totally unwatchable as the disc had a huge score across it. The only other copy was rented out so I took "The Counterfeiters" as a replacement. It was in German with subtitles but was very good. A *very* different take on a WWII film. May see if Tell No-one is back in stock.

Am I the only one who was disappointed with the end of Lark Rise? I was disappointed that poor Dorcas was still on her own at the end. (I think I secretly hoped that she would meet up with Mr Glenfield - or whatever the teacher's name was - on her travels). Good to see Thomas and Miss Ellison getting together though.

As for the No1 Ladies' Detective Agency - I read most of the books too and I though Jill Scott was a bit too young to play Mma Ramotswe. The man who played Mr JLB Matekoni wasn't as thin and solemn-faced as I imagined either. Mma Makutsi was pretty much spot on - though I would have liked to see her in Deirdre Barlow-sized glasses. :D Can anyone tell me the point of the hairdresser though?

I have a turkey steak defrosting now and will make some roasted veg and a jacket spud for dinner. will probably have HM Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato soup with some HM bread for lunch.

Will give the toilet a good scrub this afternoon - all these confessions are spurring me on! Have a great day. xx

He turned up about 10.30 to take oldest DD out for a coffee.... so I pounced & told him to come in because I wanted a word! She stomped straight out to his car so waited there. Didn't shout & yell but told him she starts GCSE;s after easter & he is screwing with her mind (other 2 tend to let it wash over them a lot more). Pointed out various other stuff. No idea what he wants to do today (ie leave or not). It changes hourly, let alone daily. Feel better for having got it off my chest to him, but don't think he will take a blind bit of notice. Yes, he does take an interest in kids (though he had to be forced to at first) but they don't really seem to enjoy each other's company?

Oldest DD just returned 5 mins ago & stomped in & straight past me. Want to ask her to pack & go live with him if she thinks I'm that bad a mother.

Kids. Ex OH's. Aaarrrghh.... Doesn't help that I'm feeling lonely at the moment, just seems to amplify all the aggro somehow. I need to find a new OH but not sure how when I never get any uninterrupted time or house to myself. :(

However my oven is now spotless.... I had a constructive hour or so using up some of my frustration, lol!

    afternoon all

Just back from our trip to Hereford, we had a great time, lots of good food, few drinks and catching up with family. OH and I walked up Hay bluff on saturday, which was great, freezing cold, absolutly bitter, and the wind up the top took your breath away, and it was blizardy snowing up the top, we could hardly stand up, but so glad we done it, we will try another mountain next time. Also managed to squeeze in a trip to Dunelm, we do not have then here so always like to pop in, got some new t-towels, dinner knives and lovely scented candles. Kathy we waved at you as we passed Southampton and at Taplady once we were up her way , did you see us :D

We are having a takeaway tonight, I seem to have bought a cold back with me, my mum and her sister had it last week, so am going to take it easy for the afternoon.

Smokey hugs to you all xx

Hope everyone else is well, off to catch up on the threads xx

Afternoon all, I'm feeling a bit delicate today because I had a fight with a bottle of wine and it got the better of me!!!! _pale_ I deceided to go on a cleaning binge as there wasn't much on tv except Larkrise which I have recorded. I put my music on full blast opened a bottle of wine and started scrubing. I finished cleaning the windows at 12.40 am. My DH said I'm mad, he didn't even notice the sparkling windows all he kept saying was where's this gone where's that gone? Surfaces sweetie surfaces. Must admit it looks a bit bare now, might put some things back. So no prizes for guessing what I will be doing this afternoon:huh:
