Hi, this is the Daily Thread for bank holiday Monday. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Bank holiday and it's cold and wet. Nothing new there. The whole weekend has been a washout in Cornwall.
I managed to finish decorating my son's room, so he is happy. My daughter wants her's done now, so next weekend looks spoken for.
Easter Sunday was great. Good church service in the morning followed by dinner at Mum's. The evening got a little boring as I did not really want to watch TV all night, but after taking the dog for a walk in the freezing wind, the log fire and square box in the corner looked rather inviting.
Back to work tomorrow, so I think we are off to Penzance today to visit the sis in law. If it stops raining might even walk over to St Michaels mount.
Well folks, have a nice day.

Morning N9eav :hello:

You've added to your post, so I'll add to mine
Nightmare weekend, I knew the whole truth about SIL, shame she didn't let BIL know. I can't go into detail (though I want to) but I could not keep my mouth shut any longer so we told him everything. He's been through the mill with her lately and has been having counselling and trying really hard to sort himself out but really it was all a lie and a waste of time because he was basing it all on what she'd told him and she'd left out one HUGE detail which changes everything. *sigh*
This is the first day in weeks that I've woken up without a headache, I've had a permanant one for what seems like forever
Smoky
I dreamt last night that I was in my favourite place in the world, MY little spot on the wall in the outer harbour in Mevagissey
The dream ended with me getting my ironing board out of the wardrobe (?), wierd because I don't have an ironing board
Just popped back for my 2nd edit
We had mice running around under the floor in miss and master tru's rooms, so I wanted to poison them (the mice not the kids). They'd travelled down to the larder and the kitchen bin too but only for a visit, they mainly lived upstairs
But mr tru didn't want to kill them so he bought 2 plug-in sonic thingies to drive them away, one for each electric loop. As soon as we plugged in the downstairs one, the guinea pigs froze for a few seconds then started squeaking like mad - I didn't know it would affect them too  The upstairs one has worked but it's driven them downstairs so guess what - we have to buy poison  So we spent £30 on sonic things and still have to spend £3 on poison. I lost my rag with mr tru and told him he's never to go shopping again and WILL YOU LISTEN TO ME NEXT TIME thank you

Morning N9eav, Tru & all to follow
(((Smokey)))
Actually looks quite nice & sunny here in Essex still have a ground frost though.
A local town has a market each Bank Holiday & I thought yesterday it might be cancelled but think if we can get ready in the next hour we might go and have a look to see it its on.
Other than that its ironing and a visit to the inlaws (aaarrhggh) today, wont be staying there long though.
Have a tremendous amount of paperwork to do but no going to think about that till tomorrow.
Enjoy the last day of the holidays.

Morning N9eav & Tru, and all to follow....
A glimpse of blue sky through the gap in the curtains this morning & it doesn't look wet or windy (for 5 minutes...)
Don't know what to do today - am tired, but could do with some sorting out in my room a bit. But have got 2 1/2 weeks off coming up (though think I will sleep through all that!).
Fed up with exDH, grown man incapable of fending for himself or making any sort of decision without ringing here 10 times a day & expecting his kids to advise him.... just what oldest needs when she's got imminent GCSE's. I don't mind helping where I can, but it's beginning to feel like he's trying to move back in without me noticing!! AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH.....
Anyway, deep breathing, counting to 10 and......relax....... lol
Hope everyone else has better days and those who have been snuffly are less so now.
((((((hugs)))))) smokey and anyone else who needs them.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Good morning everyone,
We're having a "take it easy"day here, as a totally over-excited small child woke me three times last night. I'm not tired, I just want him to calm down today.
The only plans I have are to hoover upstairs and make some cornflake cakes with one of ds's easter eggs.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky and to anyone else needing them.
Take care all of you0 -
Morning all the sky is blue in Hull today and its not too windy either, though it is cold.
I've got work today, argh!!!! Though its time and a half, so guess thats good, but I'm on checkouts and then I need to grab some shopping, which means I'll be tempted by all the yummy things people are buying as they come through my till.....
Hope everyone has a good bank holiday monday. When life gives you lemons......Grab a bottle of tequila and call me over!

yesterday changed plans for tea when realised daughter was eating out so its brisket tonight instead.
will need to pop to shops for some paracetamol for Mr D's sore back (must be bad he's taking paracetmol, usually he likes us to suffer listening to his pain!) and for DS who has gone down with yet another bug. He has been poorly for months now, due to go back to GP yet again...
have a good day folks!x x x0 -
Morning all

I ended up spending yesterday afternoon in A & E cos DD2 swallowed part of the operation game  Luckily it is in her bowel not her lung so it's just a waiting game now
The morning was great though
We went to church and it was a lovely service  Then we went to the car boot sale. I got: 7 items of good quality work clothes (have put on weight so none of my old ones fit me), an ELLE t-shirt for the gym, a cardigan and a jane norman dress and jacket for my brothers wedding, an operation game (now minus a piece :rotfl:), a big teddy p.j. case and some new scales .... all for £9!!!:T
Today we are having the roast meant for yesterday and then I'm going to start packing for when we move house (again
) I'm getting DD's to sort out toys/books for charity by telling them that they're big now and should get rid of the one's for babies
I did manage to get on top of ironing and washing yesterday ... just a load drying to be put away.
Have got paperwork to do but am saving it for tomorrow, when I will also clean kitchen/bathroom and floors.
Hope everyone has a great bank holiday monday
HUGE HUGS to all those who want/need them.
