Morning all :hello:
I managed a bit of a lie in but it means I got up to all the jobs I would usually have done by 10am.
We promised the girls a day out and a picnic today but it has started to snow so we might check what's on at the cinema instead. I also want to ask some friends up for a drink tonight as we haven't seen them for ages.
Lunch will be something easy and tea is laeftover fish pie and banoffee.
I have a ton of ironing to do as well so I can get stuck into office work tommorrow and ignore the house. I'm trying to work from home more since the petrol prices have increased and OH and I take the 2 cars on a 25 mile round trip if we both go to the office. Unfortunately I am not disciplined enough to work from home.
Hope you're sleeping better smoky. x
((((Churchie))))
Enjoy your day out JackieO.
Squiggly and Candygirl, Sorry I have no advice re exes but hopefully if your persistent and consistent with them they'll leave you alone eventually.
And at least they are taking an interest in the kids unlike so many you hear about. Easy for me to say I know.

Morning everybody :hello:
Well it's Bank Holiday Monday, it's my one free day of the weekend, and I am up and dressed before midday so I think I'm doing quite well
My mum phoned yesterday and asked if I wanted to do something with her today - I felt bad to say no but I just needed today to unwind. I am feeling quite smug as well, as I managed to extricate myself from the pub last night after only two drinks, so I got home at a reasonable hour and woke up with no hangover
I think I'm becoming middle-aged

I need to get various things done today, especially after posting on the confessions thread yesterday
You will be pleased to know that the loo has already been cleaned and although the kitchen [STRIKE]is still a hole[/STRIKE]hasn't, I have at least tidied the surfaces.
Also need to do a run to the supermarket for some odds and ends. The question is WHICH supermarket, I have a choice of most of the major ones and it's just a question of which has the best deals. I might buy myself a reduced Easter egg or two, cos I havent had any yet
And I still have three opera reviews to finish off - I'll be really pleased if I can manage to finish them today.
Dinner - who knows. Possibly HM macaroni cheese with peas.
Love Rzl xx

Morning All
We went to a boot fair this morning at a local independent supermarket and manged to buy 4 big bags of stale bread for £4 (26 loaves and 36 rolls) It's a good job my freezer was nearly empty. The bread was only sell by yesterdays date and made on site. Then kids all managed to find a couple of books, DH found a strange tool he could not manage to live without and I searched in vain for a set of bathroom scales.
DD's are all back at school tomorrow so I have to make sure that their uniforms, PE kits and bookbags are ready or it will be a mad scramble tomorrow morning.
Have to bake for packed lunches this afternoon and make a chicken and veg curry from yesterdays leftovers.
Hope you all have a good day

Hi all - back with a well-earned coffee.
Hey, DONNY-GAL - KB has just played the very first single I ever bought; 'Reach Out' by The Four Tops. I think I paid half-a-crown for it!
TWINK - I think costume dramas based on the classics one of the few things the BBC gets just right! I've never watched any of the soaps - the bits I have accidentally caught have horrified me with the way the characters talk to each other and no-one ever seems to smile. I also hear that they should really be shown after the 9pm watershed because they show violence. I wouldn't let my kids watch them when they were younger but my DS2 started to when he and his GF moved into their new house. He told me the other day that they don't watch them any more!
CANNYLASS - I didn't watch the Ladies' Detective Agency - I read the book and agree with you that, having watched the trailers, the lady playing Precious was far too young. In the book, she comes across as late 50s, early 60s. I remember years ago reading Gone With The Wind which is a fantastic book; when I watched the film - all 9 hours of it! - I was disappointed that they had still left a lot of the story out of and I'm always a bit suspicious now if I watch something having read the book first!
Well, I've made the burgers, made two loaves and some rolls, two batches of cakes, a salad, prepped the strawberries to have with some cream later & cleaned the kitchen floor so I'm taking a break! It's the clearing up that takes so long during that sort of session. I enjoy making the stuff. I always say I'm going to bake in an organised fashion but I end up in a real mess with all the ingredients spread all over the worktops and kitchen table and then, halfway through making what I had planned, I decide to make a few more things and the mess just grows and grows. Anyway, it's all done now.
Well, I shall call back later.

Good Morning all
I am spring cleaning and de cluttering my kitchen today, one bin bag of rubbish and about 10 items for car boot already and I've only done one cupboard! Going to work my way slowly round and not stress about getting it all done. In the last few days I have managed to do conservetory, my bedroom and bathroom so not doing too bad. I have this week off to tackle the house and will leave it looking lovely while I fly off on holiday next week to Eygpt but I bet I come back to a total mess as DD2 is here alone for the week and she refuses to do anything in the house, even cleaning up after herself so I'm dreading my return. I'm hoping her Dad will pop in and kick her into touch!
Thinking of doing some lunch but then it will create more mess to clean up....maybe I should stay hungry lol, oh no just remembered I am doing burgers with onions in my George Foreman so only that to clean,a plate and a mug!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter day and is enjoying the bank hol in spite of the weather. DD was so excited yesterday morning as it had snowed overnight, its all melted now though
Had a bit of scare with jellybean on Saturday, started bleeding and had to go into hospital to get checked. Luckily everything is fine, just need to rest which is annoying me already  the house is a tip and i want to clean it!
My sis is doing an Egg hunt for DD today as she was out all day yesterday so that should keep her occupied, OH is watching a dvd and ignoring the HUGE pile of washing up  Typical!
Anyway, i'm going to nosy on here for a while, thank god for laptops and wireless internet eh?!
Take care all

Hi Everyone...
What I want to know is how do you all get your posts in SO early in the day?! Im amazed at your efficiency, I have only just managed to grab 5mins, I have been up for hours, and so far have done HUGE ironing pile, helped DD1 with "fractions" homework, hoovered unidentifyable food pieces up from kitchen floor, emptied bin and bleached it cos it was really yuk, broken up two arguments about whos easter eggs belong to who/whos turn on computer.
Whilst I was emptying and reloading dishwasher it occured to me that I should watch "shirley Valentine" on DVD. It didnt make much sense to me when I was 13, but I bet it would now ! LOL
The day is improving however, dh has said he will do dinner today, bought me a cup of tea in, and announced his mum can babysit on friday so we can go to see some friends. My huffing and puffing must have got through to him ha-ha!
have a good day everyone...
