JackieO - Shame you had such a naff time at Amhurst - my parents took DD's there last summer to a circus event and they all had a fantastic time. It's just along the river from my parents so it's somewhere they tend to go alot.....would be worth a letter of complaint though as it's just not on when you spend so much money."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Misread the post. Please pursue with GP and even go further if necessary. I have been a bit out of the loop lately. How old is he? Is it maybe a hormonal thing? We think about girls going through hormones and puberty but sometimes I think boys have a more difficult time as it is not so physical!

he'll be 18 this year....and yes I was a child bride :rotfl:
he's been ill since october. lost weight, being sick and nauseated. headaches, sore throats....just on going. blood tests show its probably a virus infection....and he had actually been a bit better since january putting on weight and his blood tests had improved..... but in last week symptoms have returned. could just be a run of the mill virus, but if it doesnt get much better will need to take him back and get his bloods done again.x x x0 -
Hi again dogrose
Well, can't add much but a worrying time for you. Just hope he comes through this. I was an old Mum and had DS at just 28 and DD just before 30! It doesn't make any difference though does it? Your kids are your kids whatever age.

:rotfl:I was joking.....wasnt that much of a child bride!! but thats a secret

A few kids in his year have had similar problem to the point one had missed so much school they just left. He's managed to keep up with his school work...bright kid. has come first in sixth year chemistry, maths and computing!! just hope we get it sorted soon and certainly before he heads off to uni.x x x0 -
Hi Dogrose
We had a similiar time with our DS when he was 10-11, it is heartbreaking to watch. In the end, after involving an ENT consultant he identified some anaemia (probably cause by the anti biotics the GP pumped into him) and a couple of months of Iron tablets brought our old son back.
Not fasionable I know but I would ensure he had multi-vitamins with iron as I am sure they help.

Hiya!
A late post from me as we've had a busy weekend.
Love and hugs Smokybabe
Easter Sunday was a nice day spent at church in the morning and then over to my parent's for a lovely roast meal with my DB and his family.
Today we went into the city centre as DD1 who is 11, seems to have grown out of so many of her clothes. She is already 5ft and has size 6 feet! So DH took DD2 (age 7) who is a proper little tomboy into the model shops to buy her first Airfix model. :rotfl:
DD1 and I spent over 2 hours in the enormous Primark and I ended up spending £50, but we did buy 4 pairs of trousers and 4 tops so we did get value for money. I also treated myself to 2 new tops which together only cost £9. So everyone was happy.
This evening the girls and I made a banana birthday cake for my MIL who will be 82 tomorrow. We're going over for lunch and I'm going to do her ironing and shopping for her.
Hope everyone is happy and well!0 -
Hello everybody,
Very busy day here to-day...had text from ex work mate who was nearby and we had a nice leisurely chatty lunch, arrived back to visitors (unexpected) and another expected visitor...nice day all round.
Smoky...hugs to you and LOs.
Anniestar...glad you enjoyed your wine.
Out in the morning and possibly for lunch, should see doc re continued reduction of anti depressants, would like to be off them before Oz, but not sure if that would be wise....need to talk to him as he will remind me that it is really his decision as he is the doctor!
Hugs to all in need or want,
Sleep well

he's had that all checked and he's not anaemic. its his white cell count which is abnormal and the pattern is characteristic of a prolonged viral infection. gp thinks it may be something like glandular fever. his counts were improving before this set back.x x x0
