I (well DH:D ) keep ours sorted with a Microfibre dusting pop (£2) from a cheapo shop, you know the sort that is about 4" wide by a 1' long with the cover that comes off to wash, the head bends in the middle to get it out, to get the bits/dust off, then we have a swiffer of sorts which has the bottle on to spray (stardrops or whatever is in the cupboard) and we wrap a microfibre cloth on the head to give it a wash. We picked black slate laminate this time so dust bits are the main problem:o.
We have a steam cleaner, but not sure if it has been used yet?

Wow Candy
Haven't checked the tv listings - double Corrie? Thanks DG - will investigate further re mop thingy!
Churchmouse - hope FIL making progress. It certainly sounded positive from your post. Lilmis - please, please don't overdo things. Thomas James is more important (DGS1 has James as middle name; DGS2 has Thomas as middle name!); DiscountD - well done on the kitchen clean-up. I was appalled by what I cleared out just before we embarked on our current ongoing kitchen refurb. Knowing it was going to happen, I lost interest 2-3 years ago and I would be described in Scotland as a 'minger'!!!!!!!!!!!
Sun now shining after our snow just over an hour ago!

Hi all!
Just a quick post from me as the Confessions thread made me feel guilty so must try to get a bit done today as my cough is a lot better!
Snoozer - I have put my bras into soak and will be rinsing them shortly!
Smokybabe - thinking of you and the littlies (((HUGS)))
Sympathy to all those with really annoying exes!

Shez, Catowen, Catznine, Anniestar:hello: :hello: :hello::hello:
Aussielass - :hello: Thanks for posting the photos of your Zoo visit. Doesn't your lovely DGS look grown up now!
Mioliere -LOL at your DH managing to forget his flask despite your best efforts!:rotfl:
Dinner tonight is HM chicken curry. I bought an M&S "Oakham" chicken which said on the label that it would feed four people. Looking at how much was left after the three of us had been served I thought it would probably have fed six! Still that meant there was loads left over for the curry, and still a bit on the carcass which I hope to get around to boiling up for soup. but I'm making no promises about that!:p
Well, all for now as I really must get those bras rinsed and hung on the airer. Must also ask DH to take the Dyson upstairs for me so I can vacuum the headboard of our bed - been meaning to do it for ages, but always forget until the next time I go into the bedroom
Best wishes

Good afternoon everyone
Hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday. Hugs to all those who need them.
((smoky)) - thinking of you and your children.
Well I'm having a really exciting Bank Holiday! Hubby is off work this week, and we are in the process of trying to sell his mother's house as she is moving in with us sometime this year. Her house has been up for sale since last July, with no offers at all, so we have decided to paint it throughout in neutral colours and also declutter it at the same time. So today has been spent painting her living room. I've got to say, it looks loads better - just hope she doesn't fill the free space we've created with more stuff!
Back tomorrow to paint her dining room - oh joy, oh bliss
Think hubby will be going back to work for a rest!
Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday everyone.0 -

what a rotten swiz,we took the tribe to a 'easter extravaganza 'at Fort Amherst .Arrived at 11.30.
no guide for the tunnels, had to wander around with five children trying to see anything interesting and No there wasn't
animals = 2 goats and 2 moth-eaten ducks
an easter egg hunt with most of the clues removed or missing.
The re-enacment people had pushed of home because it was cold !
The easter egg painting was rubbish as the paints were all dried up
left after complaining vociferously, having paid £46.00 entrance with five dissappointed children .Total time in the Fort, 40 minutes
Luckily my DD is a part-time tour guide at the Historic Dockyard and her boss let us in to see the steam engine fair for free.Had a nice wander around the site with the children
I get so cross when families get ripped off like this .when I complained I was told that basically they can charge what they like and if I don't like it tough.Am fuming at the moment  ,not so much about the cash, but the fact that the children were looking forward to something different as they had been stuck indoors for the past three days
When I said I would write to the council this very snotty girl said 'it's nothing to do with them .We hire the venue and put things on,well they sure slipped up today as there was very little to amuse five children
There were no conccessions and our youngest lad is only just three so it was £5.00 for each child and £7.00 each for three adults what a swizz
At the dockyard in common with a lot of Kent attractions once you have bought a ticket you can use it for a whole year afterwards at almost any time.
Oh well I live and learn I definitely won't go there again.
Am off to have some supper now and get warm as it's got very cold again0 -
OMG Jackie what a massive rip off hun.I'd deffo pursue the complaint, I hate it when families are ripped off like this grrrrrrrr:mad: "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Have good evenings all xx0 -
Evening all
Hope you are coping Smokey, hugs.
Hugs to those in need.
Well I got a lie in this morning, got up at 8 to find that hubby's brother had been phoning since 7:30 to offer him a days work. We rushed round like a pair of loonies & managed to get him on the 8:35 train. He was back by 2:00 with some money in his pocket, £20, but better than nothing. I'm back to work tomorrow & have got very little done of the list I had, still only 2 weeks then it's the school hols & I only work part time for 2 weeks, maybe I'll get some housework done then, I doubt it though.
Have a good evening one & all.
Hugs Hester
