Intimidating bullying Argumentative Buyer; I want to withdraw the Sale.

Can I just clarify...
This was an idea for the poor woman who is being put through the mill by a greedy bullying buyer
Unfortunately where ebay is concerned, the only way to fight back is just like her - DIRTY!
You are both correct that I should not have done this - but hey we all make silly mistakes - I think we should focus on helping someone out of a sticky situation rather than using this thread as an attack on my charater.0 -
I think you'd have to be daft to swallow a tall tale about an item's sudden demise on ebay these days... like you'd be daft to believe 'my cat bid on it'
...trying it on a buyer who is known to be obsessive, aggressive and obnoxious and clearly doing their best to make the transaction ever more difficult and expensive for the seller would be a serious error! My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
The OP is in a horrid situation and people are trying to help. However ebay works around trust and one rogue user can cause lots of problems..which the OP is finding. For someone to add to a thread merely to state that they are also an untrustworthy user might be seen as less that useful.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Some people make silly mistakes, others blatantly lie and cause bad feeling for others.Likewise, fighting dirty is stopping to their level, I prefer to rise above antics like that.
It's situations like this that create the bad experiences on eBay - if only people were more honest and truthful. It is unfortunate that there are too many people who pull stunts like that, who think that it is the right way to conduct business online.
The sooner ebay gets rid of them, the better it will be for the majority of genuine sellers, which in turn will create more buyer confidence in the site. eBay does not create the bad sales, it's the bad sellers that do that.
Being such a highly publicised and popular website, it is really not wise to suggest illegal or immoral methods of money saving. Some people do not know the difference between fact and opinion - and suggestions like "fighting dirty" are far from constructive or useful in helping people out of sticky situations.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Seems very strange that your buyer does not have a confirmed address on their paypal account considering she is a major seller on ebay.
Others have suggested she is using a spare paypal account, but if she is so persistent don't see why she isn't switching payment to her main paypal account when you are refunding payment for non confirmed address.
Could be that she is using a gift address from her main paypal account (maybe the adress of another ebayer she has already sold your items on to).
You can use gift adresses (different names/adresses from your own) when making a paypal payment for smaller amounts they will still show as a confirmed address but not so for larger amounts (not sure what the limit is).
Does the name of the adressee correspond with the name of your buyer?0 -
I would agree with greeneye. It makes sense...
Does that mean she is getting people she buys from to post the items directly to the seller, thus avoiding and P&P costs and making a profit on the item??0 -
I'm not sure changing the address on the paypal account makes a difference, as it is the account that is confirmed, rather than the specific address.
I have changed the delivery on a few recent purchases, to my work, the OH's work and a present for my Gran, and each time the address has shown as "confirmed"...?!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Yea it does steve, done it plenty of times for stuff under say £100 but did one recently for about £350 and it was showing as unconfirmed to my seller. Not sure how much the OP's invoice is for.
Kinda makes sense that they would set a limit on how much you can spend on items going to a gift address.
I.e you hack a paypal account and change a gift address and go on a spending spree which paypal persumably would be liable for as sellers would be seeing confirmed address / seller proection eligble.0 -
I had a delightful adventure with a buyer of my item, which had sold for about £80.
His payment consistently came through as unconfirmed. We communicated and tried repeatedly. At one point he paid me 2p and it came up as confirmed.
Ultimately paypal emailled me direct to reassure me that his address was in fact confirmed. Ridiculous state of affairs.
P.S. My work delivery address is confirmed. Go figure. My TV is broken!

Well, the update, i did refund her a second time late at night and completed the sale with a 2nd chance offer to another buyer
I then filed a dispute to recoup ebay fees
On the last day of dispute she responded that she had paid twice and I'd refunded each time without explanation.
I replied she had requested delivery to an uncomfirmed address and that the buyer had been informed of the reason for refund
Knowing it would never end mutualy, i then took the option to stop communication with the buyer and reclaim my fees,
Which have been granted and the dispute is closed, however, she has recieved a NPB strike, it is impossible to separate this action which does seem a little unfair.... to her
And now that I'm calm I actually don't think she deserves that because non payment was not the crime (so to speak) but then again she put me through a lot of stress for all the reasons stated in my earlier posts
So,
I will expect a neg around the time it stops being allowed to leave a neg for a buyer, I don't think she'll do it before to avoid me leaving her one.....
Still, i'm just relieved she is off my back.....
Thanks for all your Comments & Advice0
