your assuming its not delivered as addressed.
the signature merans nothing bar it was signed at the point of delivery
if its delivered as addressed then there is no claim to make0 -
This was my fear all along. If the parcel tracks to the correct address it doesn't matter who signed for it..neither the seller or Royal mail can be held responsible.

Thanks... Im clutching on straws now. A similar thing happened with an M&S order two months ago. It was tracking as despatched and delivered with a signature. I didnt receive anything and M&S promptly refunded me. I told them to look into the matter as I didnt like the idea of someone signing for items that didnt belong to them but they never got back to me. This wasn't royal mail but parcel line.0 -

A nightmare situation.
surely the seller is responsible for ensuring delivery to the buyer and royal mail responsible for ensuring delivery to correct address
so seller is at fault if he sent it to the wrong address or royal mail at fault if they delivered to the wrong address0 -
Firstly, without actual confimration that the tracking slip does track to your addess, and so far the seller has been somewhat unsure about this..all is not necessarily lost.
Secondly, I am a tiny bit concerned that this is in fact the second item tracked and signed for supposedly at your address which may or may not have arrived. Is there anyone who may have intercepted the parcel..a neighbour or a chancer who pretended to be you fiddling at the door with keys and who could persuade both the RM and a courier company to hand over a parcel? I only ask because whilst my regular postman obviously recognises me the relief ones we sometimes get have always been happy to hand over everything to me even if I am in a coat and just wander up the path from town or whatever..i could be anyone but I suppose if I look convincing enough why would they doubt me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Absolutely right which is why all along I have said there will be problems if the item tracks to the correct address.
If the seller's receipt shows the wrong address then OP will win a paypal claim. It does get more complicated though if seller has the correct address but post office delivered it incorrectly, but then that's why custardy has suggested going to the Sorting office to see if they remember anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I really feel sorry for the OP right now. She has paid for an item to be sent to her address and expensive one at that! Between the seller and RM something has gone wrong.
When you send a SD you have to write the address twice, once on the receipt section and once on the section that goes on the parcel. What if the seller addressed the 2 parts differently and the OP's section had the slightly different road name, afterall the seller did mention this other road name which happens to be a road name in the area. Or what if the postcode was inelligible writing, a 1 with the bit on top and bottom if rushed could look like a 2 to RM. Something like that could easily of happened and neither is OP's fault but she will be the one losing out.
I also agree with the thing about somebody getting hold of your mail, i have heard of this from a friend and it was one of the neighbours!0 -
The bit that goes on the parcel is the return address, not the recipient address. However the address on the receipt should be the same as that written on the parcel/letter, and my post office always check this and also checks it in the system to make sure it is valid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
