    Hi all,

not long been back in from work & school run. I had another flat tyre this morning, luckily the wheel is ok, took me ages to find some where to get air! Cant believe places are now charging!

Had a mega !!!!!! day at work. No-one spoke to me  not even a good morning! Then I heard hints (or digs) being dropped that there was a lots of calls last week, due to my absence! Not happy - is far from how Im feeling at present.

Jacket spuds in oven for kids dinner. NOt sure what Im having yet, probably left over brisket I did yesterday in the SC.

Anyway, best be off, and get the evenin chores done.
    Love Emma xxx

Thank you for your kind words. The gym went well today even though I didn't want to go. I find it does help if you keep busy. Sheperds pie for dinner tonight. I hope everyone has a good evening and an even better day tomorrow. xx

Well we have got the eyepatch for dh, it is a trendy black and green one! Just need a parrot! ;) Will a cockapoo do? She does insist on climbing all over him! Dh has a dr's appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully something will be done to help him out.

    splodge - (((hugs))) to ds

Martyn - I remember the flower pot men and totally understand where you are coming from!;)

Elona - I think it was suggested that the old size 8 (4mm) needles were the best to use but doesn't matter too much so long as the squares are the correct size, might be worth asking the charity what size they want if they are to go directly there. Seems a shame as that way we won't see the whole blanket finished.

Dinner tonight will be a fish pie with mash topping followed by more trifle. Tomorrow we will have the stew as ds is coming to visit.

Redruby and jannyannie - I like my yorkshires with golden syrup and cream on as a dessert - yummy!

mumzy - Could you use it up as a base for a curry using it instead of making a stock?

Hi everyone. I'm glad the thread has re-opened; however, I think we may have a problem asking a charity to sew up squares they haven't even asked for, but REDRUBY has come up with the brilliant suggestion that we arrange a mini-meet to sew the squares together. Spinning off from that is the idea that more than one mini-meet could be arranged; we are scattered all over the country and it makes sense to maybe have regional mini-meets if we end up with squares for more than one blanket.

Another angle is the one suggested by Donny-Gal (I've got the name right this time because I can see it at the top of this page!) which is to drop them into our local Help the Aged charity shops so, with that in mind, I will call into my local one tomorrow (any excuse for a mooch round there!) and see what they think.

I will keep everyone informed as to progress on this. I would love to think we could pull it off!

Anyway, I have just sorted through my wool stash and have three lovely 'firey' colours so will start my squares very soon.

Anyway, back to things domestic. I remember Bill and Ben but I still don't understand the 'Bill and Bens' that Martyn mentioned - I can guess but don't know if I'm right! If it is something unpleasant, then I hope he is over it now!

We have just heard that my FIL needs heart bypass surgery but the doctors haven't said if this is imminent or whether he will have to go on a waiting list. If so, I shouldn't think the list in Cyprus is as long as ours. He's a bit down about it but at least they can do something about it. It would have been worse if they'd said that nothing could be done.

CRAZYCHIK - hope things are better for you tomorrow. Just ignore the small-minded people at work.

Well, DH is going to be a couple of hours late tonight (thank you DH for telling me AFTER I had put the dinner on!) so I will do a bit of knitting while I'm waiting.

    See you all later.
