    We lost Eric today. He had deteriorated and the medics opinions were that he would not recover from this. I agreed for treatment to be withdrawn and he slipped away within minutes and peacefully.

    I'm so sorry to hear this Smokey, I'm sure you made the right decision. You must have been relieved in a way that he was oblivious to this, but it doesn't make it much easier for you. I'll be thinking about you, even though you don't even know me!
