Bit of a mixed day here, hubby's been told one of his brothers won't be giving him any more work, so he will have even less work now. I did lunch duty today & it went well & no abuse. Katy is not home from work yet, so at least we have some peace & quiet.
I had a phone call from the BBC today, they wanted to interview me, but I declined, lol.
Stefejb, I did think it was a bit much for Katy to sponsor 6 non working people into the UK, where ever they are from.
I saw a lovely crochet cardi/jacket in New Look on Saturday so I'm now on a mission to find a similar pattern, if I can't find one I might just do it by guesswork, it looked really simple.
Have a good evening.
Re the nude/semi nude job, some of the TV channels have girls on screen & you can phone up & talk to them, live, maybe it was that sort of thing.
Hugs Hester
HESTER - I'm intrigued, as we all are, I expect, about what the BBC what to interview you for!
Also, have you tried looking for free knitting and crochet patterns on the net. Just google 'free patterns'.

I did manage a little nap this afternoon, but had to take the washing out of the machine and put it in the dryer, put a load of whites in so had to stay on my feet. One of our residents was taken to hospital on Saturday, he seems to have had some sort of mental breakdown, apparently he has thrown all his clothes and shoes in the rubbish bins in the recycle room.......and thrown the rubbish out of the bins, the recycle room has been sealed until his relatives get here from Spain...........sad in a way, he was a nice little man, lost his wife 3 years ago.
OH has just gone out to the meeting that they had to put off last week when we had a major fire in the City.
I aquired 4 more dolls on Saturday who have been sadly mistreated, I am planning to re-wig and dress them and sell them on, but they will have to wait until I have got the stuff ready for the craft fair in August. I have tidyed them up as best I can for now........
We had lunch today as OH was going out, so I treated meself to two rounds of bread and dripping for my supper, scummy!!!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts have been very much with Smokey today, I do hope that things are a little brighter...........
Hester, please post when Katy gets home, I am dying to know if she has got the heave ho..........................locking chidlren in the room she needs a brain transplant.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
oh dear -- dd11 has come home from school very grumpy - she has been called in to see the head as she got a 4A in her mock literacy SATs but was predicted a 5. I am so cross - the head has not even seen her paper so couldn't tell her which bits let her down or how to improve and dd is totally demoralised. She loves tests but is now fed up with the whole thing - and it's pretty much all they've done this yearI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

Evening all
It was only BBC radio, not TV, I left a comment on the BBC website about the budget, they were saying would it increase peoples debt. I just put in my 2 pen'orth saying that I wouldn't consider going into debt for a holiday, or to buy 'stuff'. So they wanted to know how I managed holiday etc without going into debt, I told them, I go without.

Tell her not to worry, as if it's a good school, the teacher assessments will inform her sets for years 10 and 11 anyway. What a silly HT, and also if they are mocks (just read back) !!!!!! is she on about, the real tests are in May!!!! :eek:oh dear -- dd11 has come home from school very grumpy - she has been called in to see the head as she got a 4A in her mock literacy SATs but was predicted a 5. Off for a soak in the bath.
That might be just a bit too much information

Well now, that's another day almost over and hopefully everyone has had as good a one as possible. If anyone hasn't, my thoughts are with you. I had a little "down" moment this morning when I heard Annie Lennox on the radio singing "No more I love you" which made me think a bit. However, what will be will be so no point dwelling on it.
Thank you to my fellow country-woman (did I mention that I'm originally a Steel City boy?) for the lovely gesture. Blushes will be spared but :T :A , it must be said. Watch this space for the "Billy-loadsa-mates" cookbook :rotfl:
It's supper-time and tonight I will mostly be eating HM apple and raisin crumble with evaporated milk
