    Hiya!

Not read all of the thread, will do later, so big hugs to anyone who needs one.

We've had a busy weekend sorting out the girl's bedroom. DD1 wanted to swap her high sleeping/desk and futon underneath type of bed with DD2, so that was a palava dismantling it and then putting it up again. DH has taken everything out of DD1's room in preparation for a new carpet for her too, so the upstairs is like a bombsite!

On Saturday we ordered 2 fancy new 'modern' sofas for our front room. We're going to paint it next week and DH is putting down a wooden floor in there soon, so the sofas should be here in about 8-10 weeks. I can't wait as I'm deperate to get rid of my tatty old ones which we've had for ten years and are ready to go! :D

Unfortunately my wm is refusing to work properly (again) but it's still under it's 5 year warranty so the engineer is coming out on Wednesday to try to mend it. The family are under strict orders to keep their clothes as clean as possible as we're in 'camping mode' and I'm only washing very small things by hand and usually when we're on camping holidays, everyone wears their clothes for longer than usual! :rotfl:

This week DD2 has 4 intensive swimming lessons and at today's lesson I managed to drop by handbag into the pool...what an idiot!!! Thankfully the important items stayed dry such as my mobile phone and the only thing that seemed to get wet was a packet of polos and some tissues! The bag is made of plastic and looks like leather but it kept everything dry, just as well really.

I had my shopping delivered from Mr T's this afternoon and saved almost £20 by using some codes off this site and some vouchers, so I only spent £37 and seem to have lots of food. :D

I'm off out tonight to a meeting at church and one of the ladies is preparing a 'Passover Meal' so that we can experience what it's like. So I'll be having 2 teas tonight! :T

For my first tea I've made an enormous Shepherd's Pie that will last 2 days.
Must go as everyone is hungry.
    Have a good evening!

Happy St. Patricks day everyone (especially twink) :D

Busier day for me in work today which was great: passed the time better. Now a third of the way through my 3-day week so counting the hours - long weekend here I come!

Going to be pasta for tea tonight, so that will be going on in a minute. WM to be turned on as well, then need to finish up another easter basket. The forms for the CONI have been delivered to the registrar, so just need to wait 2 weeks to get the certificate back. Must go look in the window to see if they've put the notices up :p

Need to do some more exercise tonight - slacked off and didn't use the cross-trainer last night :o Have shifted some weight but would love to lose some more before the wedding - fingers crossed anyway!

*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please...

    Evening all
Bit of a mixed day here, hubby's been told one of his brothers won't be giving him any more work, so he will have even less work now. I did lunch duty today & it went well & no abuse. Katy is not home from work yet, so at least we have some peace & quiet.
I had a phone call from the BBC today, they wanted to interview me, but I declined, lol.
Stefejb, I did think it was a bit much for Katy to sponsor 6 non working people into the UK, where ever they are from.
I saw a lovely crochet cardi/jacket in New Look on Saturday so I'm now on a mission to find a similar pattern, if I can't find one I might just do it by guesswork, it looked really simple.
    Have a good evening.
Re the nude/semi nude job, some of the TV channels have girls on screen & you can phone up & talk to them, live, maybe it was that sort of thing.
    Hugs Hester

Mumzy - I make a quick curry my Mums way (purists look the other way) which is to fry chopped onion in a little oil add some chopped peeled apple (if you have it) until softened, stir in curry powder to taste, depends on the strength but with a mild one I would use 1 dessertspn or less if cautious and a little pln flour, turn heat right down and stir in like when you make a white sauce then very slowly add your stock/carrot and coriander soup a couple of spoons at a time, and mix in to make sure you have no lumps, when you have the right consistency add the cooked chicken and heat through thoroughly. You could add some sultanas if you like.

Not a very productive day at work for me, but hey-ho, that's the way it is sometimes! Have just had a letter from a recently bereaved friend praising our DS to the hilt for ringing her and being so understanding! Really nice to see him being praised - DH and I both veer towards the super-critical where he's concerned. Hope you've all had good days - will go back now and catch up with reading now!

Hi everyone. I'm glad the thread has re-opened; however, I think we may have a problem asking a charity to sew up squares they haven't even asked for, but REDRUBY has come up with the brilliant suggestion that we arrange a mini-meet to sew the squares together. Spinning off from that is the idea that more than one mini-meet could be arranged; we are scattered all over the country and it makes sense to maybe have regional mini-meets if we end up with squares for more than one blanket.

    KathyXX

Mioliere glad you got it sorted and that you like the meet suggestion;) :D

hugs to all feeling a bit grim

Hester - Please go with the BBC suggestion I would sooo watch that programme:T
