Very interesting morning. Just had a delivery of a beautiful flower arrangement. My address, my postcode, but not my name  I checked with the postie, and we looked inside and there was a card "to mam on her birthday" so it's definitely not me
He's taken it away - hope it finds its rightful owner.
Had coffee with a friend who works in the Jobcentre. For those of you who remember, I have just been saved from redundancy, reduced my hours from 16 to 9, and am to be about to lose my job again as of July. She showed me their website to look for jobs (and she'll keep an eye out for me, too). Thought I'd share this gem from the website with you:Vacancy not suitable for under 18s. Do you have an internet ready computer and a web cam? If yes, Barcode18.tv is looking for adults aged 18+ for immediate start either from home or from employer site in Mitcham, Surrey. Guaranteed minimum wages per 4 hour shift Please note that there is no obligation to consider making an application for this vacancy. However, if you feel it is suitable for you, please discuss it further with an adviser. Duties require the successful applicant to be nude/semi nude.
  Luckily it's working from home   What do you think the job is
Enjoy the rest of your day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Thank you Mioliere for your kind words they mean a lot. We to were very fond of our daughter in law and dont understand how this could have happened. My sons self estem is at rock bottom. Although his friends are constantly telling him how intelligent and caring and dare I say good looking he is. This means nothing to him when his world has been torn apart. I know it takes times but he just doesn't seem to be moving on and I guess the next step will be hard which will be when the house is sold and he comes back to live at home. I try hard not to be down as I know that we have got our health and lots of people have much bigger problems then I do but it is very hard.
I'll send you a pm later. I've got an attack of the "Bill and Bens" at the moment

Pen Pen, that's just brilliant!! I wonder too, do you think Hester will know???
Am sat here and its nearly 2 o'clock, the day has run away with me, it is very time consuming this site! (You were right CM, spent all day on here!!) Haven't even plucked up the courage for a bath, I got dressed instead!
A quick question for all you nurses (I should know the answer as this is the 4th Op I have had, but have forgotten), how soon can I get my 'wounds' wet? Having a bath and trying to keep my ankle dry is a nightmare, can I get it wet then change the dressings? I have 'soluble'?? stitches. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi everybody :hello:
mrdexter - wow, your very first MSE post and you chose to do it over here :T We're honoured!
Happy St Patrick's Day to all celebrating it. I had a pint of a nice Irish beer on Saturday - Wexford something-or-other.
Hugs to smoky, Splodge12's DS, Benthosboy, lilmisskitkat and anybody else I have missed who is in need of special TLC :grouphug: Quackers - all the best for the duckling's op :A
I'm at work but am posting while tucking into my lunch of HM spicy parsnip soup  which I often make - it came from a recipe on this board.
I need to get an early night tonight because last night I discovered just how addictive the Snakes game is on my new Nokia phone
I used to be addicted to "basic" Snake on one of my old phones, but the current version is much more challenging and I can lose whole evenings to it
I've got to write some reviews tonight, too.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight - if I had remembered to take a chicken breast out of the freezer this morning, it would be a simple pasta dish with chicken and pesto, but I didn't, so I think I'll be having... Hmmm. Not beef casserole or fish pie as I didn't take the beef or fish out of the freezer either  I might just have a "snacky" tea of pate on toast, or salmon (yes! I just thought of a main course ingredient that's in the fridge not the freezer) with the last of a pack of new potatoes and some peas. Yes, I think that's the answer.
I completely bust the budget last week, but my cupboards are full to bursting and I can't really think of anything I need to spend money on this week (other than the odd bottle of milk etc, plus some beer money for Sunday evening when I go out with the choir I always sing Easter Day evensong with) so I'm hoping to recoup my losses
Mind you, I will treat myself to an Easter egg. Aldi had some yummy looking ones.
Anyway, it's 2 o'clock so high time I got back to work.
Love Rzl xx

Does this mean that I can relinquish my title as the "saddest human of all time" :rotfl:

REDRUBY - calm down, you're making me feel lazy!
SPLODGE - I hope that selling the house, painful though it will be at the time, will be the trigger that helps your DS to move on. I wish him lots of luck.
MRDEXTER - welcome and thanks very much for choosing us as your launchpad into the wonderful, if sometimes wacky, world of MSE!
MARTYN - I think I must have had a sheltered upbringing but what on earth are the 'Bill and Bens'?!
PENPEN - perhaps HESTER'S Katy may be interested in that vacancy - the British climate is far too cold for me to consider it! Seriously, though, I do hope you get something by July.
Well, better go and do something.
See ya!

Afternoon all.. Waves :hello:
I have been kind of busy today but resting in between doing my work
I got up at 7.30am and took my DS to nursery, come home and a lady come and helped me do a star chart for my DS and DD. Sat down..thought im bored, i will go make some millionaire shortbread.. Had no milk you have to put in it, so made my own ...well it would not thicken...the shortbread suppose to strecth to make 16, i could only get 5 out of it
So the topping has gone in the bin, and i now have a small shortbread with just chochlate on..missing out the caramel :rotfl:
Im mad though as i have wasted money on the things i have just thrown away
My DD has been asleep since 11am till 2.15pm and now she has woken i have gone tired  so just going to lie on settee and watch nick jnr
Tea is a junk food tea, as my DS as nursery and my DD doesnt like much homemade food, where as my DS LOVES homemade but wont eat junk :rotfl: I struggle to get potatoe down my son though, like chips, mash etc.
Hope everyone is okay, hugs to all that need them
