They are still only 24-97 (I think 24 something) in my local store Dave0

Ah, that was the online price. I will check it out in store later.0

So using this machine, how quickly can I bake a small loaf or some rolls?0

soda bread is delicious with soup for lunch and just takes an hour, I'd thoroughly recommend trying that one and it really is filling too
If you start a basic white at 8 in the morning, should be ready to cut by 12 noon.
Ive not done rolls but you would need an oven to finish the rolls off I thinkcheerio hen0 -
This thread inspired me to 'borrow' mum's retired BM. I used the recipe in the manual and baked a brick!! It smelled so good though that I couldn't resist eating a crust - I now have a mini brick at the bottom of my stomach!:rotfl:
Going to try SB44's recipe now - fingers crossed.
BTW Hovis flour only 42p at Asda in store.Preemie hats 9 :j0 -
Dave did you manage to get a breadmaker in store?
Pecked hen ... I got the same results with the recipe from the manual and I only use Sharons recipes now
Talking of which ..... SHARON ... where are you? Hope all is well

Hmm, I'm glad I didn't buy a BM!! My second effort using Sharon's recipe was a tad better but still very heavy and also didn't rise enough to fill the bottom of the pan; I now have a lopsided loaf - bet it tastes OK though.....just needs to cool a bit! I wonder if this recipe is too small a quantity for my BM? It's a Breville 'deluxe' and the smaller loaf is 750g.
Any help/ suggestions welcome.Preemie hats 9 :j0 -

Hi ClaireNot been on as often as I would like as our 9 year old has been off school, lots of bugs going around at the minute. Plus my husband is off sick so he has been hogging the pc.Sharon0 -

Can anyone recommend a cheaper one that still does the job?
