I carefully read every comment from the op and although they used black as descriptive there was no comment anywhere that said the alledged comments from the checkout girl was about race. A later post, which I think you pointed out simply saw the word black and then jumped to conclusions.

Blimey - I go away for a couple of days and the thread is heaving with comments.
Firstly thanks to everyone who's put a post on here - I was so annoyed with what I saw last week I had to rant and share it.
It was really interesting to read what everone has put.
I don't think I recacted and I'm not sorry for having a word with the manager rather than the two women themselves. I just wish they hadn't done what they did, in front of me, because I really hate that sort of thing.
Yes till work is boring, dealing with the public is no picnic either but if they wanted to take the !!!! out of customers, go and do it elsewhere out of my eyesight.
I also thought I'd let you all know that I sat on the letter over the weekend to decide whether to send two copies to Tesco - one to the CEO and the store manager.
I sent them today - so I will update you all if I get a reply - probably not, but hey ho...........

from the op 'to take the mick out of a black woman standing a queue away.
She turned back and started to serve me and then leaned over to her matey and said something else about the clothes the woman was wearing....
When I was packing my stuff, she called her mate again and they took the !!!! out of this poor woman who was obviously very overweight and ill shuffling past with her trolley'

to me this sounds as if they were taking the p*** out of the fat women for being overweight and the black women because of her colour if the op had said in the first place it was because she was diabled then obviously i wouldnt of thought it was because due to being racist but this wasnt the case , i was not creating a divide at all thats the way the op made it sound!! :mad:

I didn't think they were taking the mick cuz she was black from the original post. She said they were saying things about the clothes she was wearing.

I'm quiet happy to point out my point of view in the real world as well. I don't have any broken bones, never had. I seem to scare some people somehow!!!!

Taking the mick out of really fat people is fairly safe, they can't move all that quick.
