Well I don't like being in a herd so I'm discussing with Bamber19 the fact most the time when the public complain they exaggerate!0

Well we need some clarification on what they were taking the p!ss about, the impression I got was that it was due to them being overweight and their general appearance and that the fact one of them was black was added just to add the "ooh, the victim was an ethnic minority it's much worse now" effect.
ok then well it is illegal to discriminate against anyone, is that better?
in the op it never said anything about the women being disabled just that she was black that is y i said about racial discriminationWins for 2011: ........................

Yeah, so you just saw the word black and decided someone must be racist!
Thats the sort of attitude that really creates a divide.0 -

No, it's not factually correct, it's not illegal to discriminate against anyone but regardless of that I don't think that was the point either of us was trying to make. The OP did clarify a little further on whcih is what made me not think the "taking the !!!!" was racially motivatedBought, not Brought0 -

I agree with you there timbo.
However, I don't think that it applies in this case. As I said above, none of us know EXACTLY what was being said. The op has mentioned that one woman was black, it may well be that the comments WERE in some way poking fun at this, perhaps her costume? Perhaps they were mocking her appearance? or then again maybe not.
The fact remains that the 2 women were in some way underdogs and therefore the girls thought it OK to jibe, and worse, do it publicly.0 -
I think I'd have interupted their sniggering and asked them to get a manager for me.
Taking the mickey out of the disabled I'd have got a manager involved and backed it up with a call and email to CS as soon as I got home. Just because Tescos pay peanuts doesn't mean they have to employ monkeys-plenty of students want jobs-get rid of the really immature ones (I'm giving the cashiers the benefit of the doubt in assuming they were young and stupid rather than older and ignorent).
Aside from common decency that kind of behaviour is illegal under disability discrimination law.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I have had experiences like this at ASDA and Tesco's.
On one trip to ASDA, there was a long queue of folks waiting to be served and the girl behind the counter was laughing and giggling with her friends without giving any notice to her job and what she was doing.
A lot of the people in the queue were getting agitated as they waited and watched this irresponsible little twit 'skylarking' and having her fun.
I got her name from her badge and calmly left the queue and went to find her manager. I went to another aisle and the manager was summoned. I told her what was happening and she immediately sorted the girl out.
The best thing to do in a situation like this is: Don't get angry! Just take their name and find their manager. The manager really needs to know that they have a 'flake' working at the store.
In many stores, the manager is running around in so many directions and they are not aware that they have problems with staff until a formal report is made.
Getting mad and confronting staff at the till is usually not the best way to handle the situation. It only creates more trouble for you, and never alerts the manager to a problem employee that needs to be dealt with.
On another occasion at a local Post Office, I approached the window and had to contend with a big, fat woman who was eating her lunch. She took my letters and made change as she chomped on her sandwich and spoke to me with her mouth full of food.
Again, I took her name without saying a word, and wrote a letter to her manager and reported this person. I'm sure that someone said something to her.0 -
Interesting to see some new trolls joining the usual 'herd', arguing points they cannot possibly know anything about or just posting things to be controversial to see who they can catch whilst fishing. :rolleyes2Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

Everyone likes to laugh at really fat people.

True, but some people on here are a bit sensitive when it's done infront of them. Even though in the last month they've probably laughed at something similar themselves. It seems people are happy for you to do it but as long as it's in a different room or something!
Seems we have some hypocritical sig developing now if you dare to point out the obvious to people:rotfl:0
