So, 2 young kids were taking the p*ss out of somebody else? AND? Has the OP or none of the other posters ever taking the mick out of someone else? Perhaps the OP shouldn't have been eaves dropping on the 2 x girls conversation.

It's a really boring job sitting on a till (apparently), so you have to get your entertainment somewhere.

if they find it that boring y dont they find a job they enjoy, and yes most of us probably have taken the p*** out of someone else but if i was working in a supermarket i wouldnt do it ion front of my customers that is plain rude, they are paid to serve and help customers not to sit chatting at the tills and rtaking the p*** out of other people. As someone else had said they could of done it on there break away from the public

what is wrong with you people?????????? these 'young girls' (old enough to work in a supermarker - not kids) should be old enough to show respect??? by all means have an oppion.. share it on here... but if your in work and you time is being paid for then your oppions should be kept until a more appropriate time... what if these women had heard what was being said about them?? being over weight (by choise or otherwise) is not fun, having a disabilaty makes life so much harder.. (i work with disabled females) but what makes these two 'girls' so much better that they can take the p*$$ and get away with it?? they need to grow up and join the real world.. hopeful starting with the sack for gross misconduct.

the young in this country scare me... no respect and they show that so freely and these yobs are producing young.... god help us all.

  • I work in a shop, and occasionally we have some, shall we say, annoying bints of customers in, and we do take the pee out of people, but through the back when we can't be heard. I would never talk about someone in a negative light in the earshot of customers.

i have two boys with special needs and i have had a lad sacked through horrible comment, one person in a local tescos told my son to f**k off as he asked in his own way for help finding a specific game, the manager said the lad didnt think my son was on the level... ie that he was acting stupid, i explained that he shouldnt speak to anyone like that even if they were hard to understand, so i wrote to head office with exact names and times and head office apparently sacked them cause a friend at the store said he went a week later.
its best to get exact names and date and time so they can confirm cctv and shift rotas, they can also see from your clubcard how often and how much you spend there, be detailed.if you complain.
my son didnt want to go shopping for weeks after and is shyer when talking to people thanks to that idiot.
    i also got 50.00 voucher
totally debt free:j and mortgage free too 2010

You call it harmless? I'm sure the company employing them wouldn't regard it as harmless as it damages their public appearance.
Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.

How is it harmless if (a) it offends/upsets someone and (b) it could ultimately affect the business that employs you?

If someone is saying something loud enough for you to hear, it's not "eavesdropping" if you hear it.

It's funny. In one thread everyone hates Supermarkets, will only use them if they have to etc etc. Then in another thread the same people all of a sudden seem concerned for their reputation.

Technically what they did was wrong but I think the op has blown it completely out of proportion. It's another part of herd mentality though where people love to complain about the same things, this case being what staff should/shouldn't be doing.
