Uktim29 - of couse that's fine lol, I doubt that there's a person on earth who hasn't done that. But there's a big difference between insulting someone 'behind their back', and doing it publically when either the 'victim' or other people can hear. Equally, as someone has said, when you're employed by a company you are their ambassador, and certain kinds of 'general public' behaviour (picking your nose, scratching your backside, pocket billiards, gossiping loudly, insulting people) can't be carried over into work. That's just my opinion though, although I'd like to see the company that says 'insult our customers, we think it's good for business!'.

I personally didn't insult/take the !!!! out of people on the shop floor, I'd do it for half an hour in the staffroom later on my break:rotfl:

Hope I never forgot to change out of my slippers when I visited YOUR shop then:D

... and also being racist is ILLEGAL

Well we need some clarification on what they were taking the p!ss about, the impression I got was that it was due to them being overweight and their general appearance and that the fact one of them was black was added just to add the "ooh, the victim was an ethnic minority it's much worse now" effect.
On top of that, my experience of things that happen in supermarkets is that within half a minute of it happening those who have witnessed it have exagerrated it greatly, my personal example being when I worked in a supermarket in my first year of uni. I apologised to a customer (a regular that I knew the name of) that there was no change (you're not strictly entitled to it anyway) and that i'd called through for more to come, she must have been waiting less than a minute, in the space of which i probably apologised for the wait 4 or 5 times. Change arrived within the minute and was handed over. Later that day I overhear a conversation in my queue between friends of the previously mentioned lady saying "I hope I don't have the same experience as Mrs X, she was waiting 15 minutes for the lad to get change earlier in the day, he didn't say a word just turned his back on her and ignored her and acted like it was her fault"

And your point is that the op has exaggerated?

    True, true, true!

I've known exactly the same umpteen times. Thats why I don't believe half of whats written on this forum, the Clinton Cards thread being the most recent, no doubt this thread as you say also has some exaggeration. The people who'll be offended by mine and your remarks, are the ones who are quiet happy to do that or live off other people moaning just so they can join in - herd mentality (that seems to becoming my phrase of the week!).

I think you'll find Bamber19 & I are exploring the posibilities rather than just assuming it must be an accurate account.

My personal experience tells me theres about a 95% chance some part of it has been exaggerated.

Is there a problem with you knowing this?

Then I was right earlier - you assume that the op has exaggerated - but you don't actually KNOW this, do you? How do you know Bamber hasn't bigged up his account? You don't, and neither do I.

And let's hypothesise that the op did embroider a bit - the fact remains that the checkout girls publicly insulted 2 innocent shoppers - customers of their employer, no less.

That's the issue that the herd on here are discussing - moo!! :D
