lol i got told to f**k off the other day by a member of staff, because the gluten free roll shelf was empty and i asked if there were any out the back!
That's horrible, its not like you can go and grab a different pack of rolls! Coeliac here too so I understand that if you actually like a particular bread you really want to be able to get some! The ignorant bas****.Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0 -
to take the mick out of a black woman standing a queue away.
She turned back and started to serve me and then leaned over to her matey and said something else about the clothes the woman was wearing....
When I was packing my stuff, she called her mate again and they took the !!!! out of this poor woman who was obviously very overweight and ill shuffling past with her trolley. The pair of them were then sniggering under their breath.
I was so angry.. really angry. The snideness of it and the they fact they had the brass balls to do this in front of customers just wound me to bursting point.
There was another woman in the queue who saw what was going on as she made eye contact with both the till women and smirked........
I was so annoyed I went to the customer service counter and asked to speak to the tills manager. She looked shocked as well and so she should be.
I hate this sort of thing...might go in and check what happened tomorrow because I feel so angry about it.
Doubt anyhting will happen though, I don't have a lot of faith in Tesco's after this.
I want to write to Terry Leahy to be honest. Not that he'd give a stuff
So, 2 young kids were taking the p*ss out of somebody else? AND? Has the OP or none of the other posters ever taking the mick out of someone else? Perhaps the OP shouldn't have been eaves dropping on the 2 x girls conversation.
It's a really boring job sitting on a till (apparently), so you have to get your entertainment somewhere.0 -

Nobody is suggesting that they're perfect, and they've never had a laugh at someone elses' expense. Like I said, I've worked in shops and there have been MANY times when I've thought that a customer was an absolute prannock - but oddly enough I've managed to keep that thought to myself. Yes, we've probably huffed and puffed about a customer once they've left, but in the shops I've worked in, it would NEVER be acceptable to insult someone within the hearing of other customers, and fortunately I move in circles where it's not acceptable to insult someone because of the way they look, or because they're disabled. This is WORK ... it's a bit different from the playground and unfortunately you need to learn that you can't play the bully and make yourself look 'cool' by making fun of someone else. It's sad that some people ever grasp that ...0 -
it's also human nature, especially in young kids.0

sure, CCTV operators take the wee out of people, policeman take the wee out of some of their "clients", so why shouldn't supermarket workers? Are you saying supermarket workers are lowly and aren't allowed their opinions and be able to express them?0

Bullying is, sadly, innate in many people, including young kids. But if you are employed by a company then, like it or not, YOU are ambassador for that company. Showing what a puerile prat you are shows up your employer in the same light.
As gingernutmeg has explained - some people need to learn the difference between work and the playground.0 -

If they have to do it it should NEVER be in front of other customers. There are there to be paid for a job not there so they can't sit around and be rude. Customer service is part of a till job-boring or not!Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0 -

Don't be ridiculous. Last time I looked, CCTV operators aren't sat next to the people they're insulting, nor do they tend to broadcast their comments so they're heard publically. It's nothing to do with being lowly, it's to do with being professional - if you insult people, and make them uncomfortable in 'your' shop, then they tend not to come back. Do it often enough, and you're going to damage business (ok, so maybe not for Tesco lol, but the principle is the same). When you go out into the working world, you have to grow up. Also, last time I checked, insulting someone because of their race or disability is actually a fairly serious offence - I know of numerous police officers who've found that one out. It's not on, whoever you are and wherever you work.0 -

they may do but they do not do it in front of members of the public, when you work for a supermarket you are ment to be polite to customers as you are there top help them not take the p*** out of them.Wins for 2011: ........................
