Thank you for clearing that up.

It didn't say this in your first post which is why no-one could understand why you were offended.

I could see why the OP was offended - surely it doesn't matter if the people were disabled or not? The fact is that the staff were downright rude, to insult customers in the hearing of other people. That's terrible - I've worked in shops for many years, and I wouldn't dream of audibly insulting any customer, it's simply inconceivable, and incredibly bad customer service. If you must be so ignorant as to insult someone because of the way they look, then wait and do it on your coffee break, when you're not sat behind a till with a queue of customers who can hear you. A member of staff in a shop should NOT insult customers when other people can hear, regardless of whether they're fat, black, disabled, thin, tall, spotty ... What need was there for their behaviour, and why is it *more* excusable for them to do it to a fat person or a black person, than it is for them to insult a disabled person? It makes no difference 'why' they did it, the fact is that they shouldn't have done it at all, and the OP was right to complain.

Very true - it doesn't matter who they were insulting, the fact that they actually did it warrants a complaint. I could understand completely why the OP complained and didn't need it explained.

Why don't I believe that? Or believe that isn't the full story!

lol - i asked him to check out the back and he point blank said no and i asked him why, he told me to f**k off. doesn't bother me, i'm sure he won't last long. he must have been having a really bad day or just a terrible attitude.
asked another member of staff, they had a look and there wasn't any.

u shoulkda told both of them u were about to complain after they had served u... they woulda shut up so FAST, plus they would know they were in for a rollockin later :D
  • Probably best not to do that! If they both knew, they'd back each other up and wouldn't get a rollicking :)

Agree totally. Unfortunately customer service seems to be going downhill almost everywhere - usually with the teenagers who seem to think they can do and say what they like. Not everyone has the courage to say something there and then - and also don't like being "in the spotlight" - that doesn't mean they don't have the right to complain!!

Either that or they wouldn't actually care. A rollockin? Managers are too soft and would probably have said "that wasn't very nice was it?" and nothing more. When you're young you can easily find another cheap, low skill job so fear of losing a job isn't that high, and considering the things i've seen people get a mere warning for in the past, the chances of losing their job are pretty low.
