jtb1214 "Totally agree Keith .... if this is the way that people treat someone who's trying to help with a fantastic bargain then what hope for future bargains is there? People will be too frightened to post for fear of receiving nasty comments !"

    Pardon ?
I was not knocking OP at all.
In fact if you check, I thanked him the first day he/she posted on the 12th - before I had even gone to Tescos !!!!.
Neither was I involved at all in all the "calling into question"of his/her facts on the first couple of pages.
What I was merely pointing out if you care to read my whole post and other posts on this thread is that I took the trouble to follow ops advance notice about the 1p price, and scanned dozens of different type of bulb which had the 6yr logo on - and all scanned at full price.
Did I accuse OP of leading me astray ? No, I carried on in good faith and eventually found ONE type of bulb which did indeed scan at 1p.
Also if you bother to read all my posts on this thread, I have managed to get some bulbs, and have chatted to other customers and staff about the offer, so why would I be "unfairly knocking" op about a genuine bargain, when I have already thanked op, and have already got the bargain myself
Maybe next time you two think of posting criticism, you would actually get your facts right.

I hope I have never slagged anyone off, ever on MSE, and I have no intention of starting now. I am normally the one asking 'abusers' to be polite and calm down. My normal attitude is to ignore all the negative sniping and hope all the naughty boys and girls will just go home if they don't get any attention.

I have re-read the post you are quoting, and I stand by what I wrote, and neither then, nor now, did I ever intend any criticism whatsoever of OP. My style of writing tends to be 'flowery' and often tongue-in-cheek, but it is simply that, my style of prose. I apologise to OP if my literary style does not meet your exacting standards of English, and caused him/her to think any criticism was intended.
If you have the time and inclination check back over my hundreds of posts, and I think you will find that I do not slag off posters - I am not even slagging you off, merely defending my own good name.
Now maybe YOU have the balls to apologise

Theoldbag (I feel bad typing that ! lol) - I never intended my reply to you, was to earlier posts from a certain member who seems to be happy to go around being 'slightly hostile' to other members. Apologies if you thought my reply applied to you. Obviously I can't speak for keith but i'm sure he was talking about the earlier posts too.

Scotland's a big place and there's more than one Tesco! They've got them at my local branch.

To theoldbag, i apologise if you feel i was harsh, but having seen some of the other posts and then see you say that you were beginning to think the OP gave duff info, well it did annoy me a bit.
As you will see, the OP has not been back since. It may be they have been busy, but it also may be some of the posts. I am sure you know what i mean from some of them.
Again, apologies. Something the OP deserves from other posters.

I bought 2 yesterday and was told the 1p offer was only for bayonet bulbs so I didn't get a juicy DTD just a refund. I had bought 2 screw fitting 6000 hours bulbs and been charged £2+!

    excellent!

I'll pop down tomorrow and get myself a few million of them!

    cheers

I saw the advertisement in the Daily Mail and, as I was going to Tesco in any case, did a hunt for these bulbs even though I have plenty in stock bought from Morrisons at 39p each.

The young lad stocking the shelves warned me that there was/might be a limit on how many I could buy, but I got 10 each of the 60w and 100w equivalents and said they could only knock a few off at the checkout at most.

It turned out that there were no quibbles and, for just 20p, I'm set up for some considerable time with low energy bulbsaction-smiley-033.gif
