Out of order. If you had read the whole thread you would have seen other posters had been getting them at 1p.
The OP has taken a lot of unfair knocking for what was a genuine bargain, but has anyone had the balls to apologise?

jtb1214 "Totally agree Keith .... if this is the way that people treat someone who's trying to help with a fantastic bargain then what hope for future bargains is there? People will be too frightened to post for fear of receiving nasty comments !"

    Pardon ?
I was not knocking OP at all.
In fact if you check, I thanked him the first day he/she posted on the 12th - before I had even gone to Tescos !!!!.
Neither was I involved at all in all the "calling into question"of his/her facts on the first couple of pages.
What I was merely pointing out if you care to read my whole post and other posts on this thread is that I took the trouble to follow ops advance notice about the 1p price, and scanned dozens of different type of bulb which had the 6yr logo on - and all scanned at full price.
Did I accuse OP of leading me astray ? No, I carried on in good faith and eventually found ONE type of bulb which did indeed scan at 1p.
Also if you bother to read all my posts on this thread, I have managed to get some bulbs, and have chatted to other customers and staff about the offer, so why would I be "unfairly knocking" op about a genuine bargain, when I have already thanked op, and have already got the bargain myself
Maybe next time you two think of posting criticism, you would actually get your facts right.

I hope I have never slagged anyone off, ever on MSE, and I have no intention of starting now. I am normally the one asking 'abusers' to be polite and calm down. My normal attitude is to ignore all the negative sniping and hope all the naughty boys and girls will just go home if they don't get any attention.

I have re-read the post you are quoting, and I stand by what I wrote, and neither then, nor now, did I ever intend any criticism whatsoever of OP. My style of writing tends to be 'flowery' and often tongue-in-cheek, but it is simply that, my style of prose. I apologise to OP if my literary style does not meet your exacting standards of English, and caused him/her to think any criticism was intended.
If you have the time and inclination check back over my hundreds of posts, and I think you will find that I do not slag off posters - I am not even slagging you off, merely defending my own good name.
Now maybe YOU have the balls to apologise

    p.s
Neither am I even criticising Tesco store staff.
I merely find it puzzling that Tesco HQ would spend money taking out national advertisements - for whatever reason, not inform their stores, and then store managers take the decision to take stock off the shelf.
If the stock is to be binned, well bin it. If it is to go to staff, fine. But to advertise to the public, then staff pull it off the shelf so it is not available seems plain daft.

Does anyone have a spare punch bag I can use to let off the rest of my steam (of indignation) ?

i have to say , it was quite funny really as we had put about 10 in our basket as we didnt see the 1p shelf, i just went to the bulb aisle. anyway, the woman stopped us at check out and took all but 4 bulbs off us. we then went back to the aisle and she came back talking to another woman staff member saying ' fancy them thinking they could buy all these, well i stopped them 1'. felt quite smug as we hot footed it to the tills 4 each while she was busy moaning about us !!! like she will just have 4 !

just out of interest, how long are the value ones meant to last for? my mum managed to get some but we know nothing about them
A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j
