Weather's still a little rough down herem, just had a hail storm lashing against the house, thought the windows were gonna break :eek:

Bit of bad news yesterday, my uncles has cancer in his face. He's been ill for a while now and they have finally confirmed it's cancer. They think the cause is the years he spent workin as a carpenter, all the wood dust and fumes from varnish He has another appointment later this week to discuss how severe it is, and what the course of action is. Ive offered to go and help as my Auntie is in and out of hospital at mo because she has problems with her knee and has to have an operation, so with her unable to walk and now my Uncle ill too, I think they are gonna need some help. They don't have many relatives around to help out, and eventhough I'm in Cornwall and they are in Hampshire i've discussed it with OH and I could if needed go up for 4 days a week then come back to go to work for a few days, then back up to them. But we will see what's said at this further appointment to see where to go from here.

Have a hotpoint engineer coming today as my washing machine is broke :rolleyes: only had it a few months :rolleyes: so have to wait in this afternoon for them to turn up :rolleyes: But then at least i have a good excuse to get on and do housework and baking as I can't get out.

This morning its young mums group at 10.30, so best go and get ready for that soon. Also need to pop to local post office beforehand as they have messed up my redirection again :mad: so will need to get that sorted so I dont lose any post im due.

DS came home from school this morning, soaked through, saying the school was closed, due to the roof again! Thanks for pre-warning me dlb! Spent most of the morning trying to find a sitter, cant find one, so looks like Im at home today!

Late going to bed last night, was on the phone for over an hour with my friend! Thanks for everyone's hugs yesterday! Her brother was sectioned under the mental health act on the day his daughter died. He tried to top himself. Cos not only losing his daughter but also lost the little girls mum 7yr ago! Bless him!

Another load of washing will go on shortly!
I slipped in the bath last night and fell in the sink! Cut my hand slightly, and bruised my arm!

Hello Amie - glad your'e back, well done on the weight loss!
moiliere - I can crochet but cant knit, so I couldnt help with the project either!
dlb - mum still not spoken with her OH ref the settee, Ive got a kettle, toaster & curtains for your friend!
redruby - I think I would too roast the duck rather than SC, duck tends to be really fatty!
Donnygal - good luck with sorting out Talk Talk, my mum had endless of problems with them when she moved! Im with BT and considering moving, but not sure who too!

I know Haribo. The drought has broken for us up here in Qld this summer. We actually got good rain. Not all Qld has had the rain we've had, it's a big place. But in some States it's terrible and as you can see have devastating consquences.

2 LOs here at the moment, we were very good this morning and walked to school - its a lovely day, but the wind is still blowing a gale, which LO thought very funny when we were trying to walk home!!!

Ive put the recycling out, hopefully its not blowing all around the neighbourhood!

Morning all...............((((((HUGS))))))))) if you need one, Smokey, glad things seem slightly better, hope the improvement continues and pleased that there were not problems at the Docs.....take all the time you can get, you will need it......................

Its blowing a hoolie here, started last night blowing at the front windows, had to get up at 5am to close the bedroom window it was sending the curtains daft, dancing in the draught.

We are going to B & Q sometime today,when the wind dies down a bit, we need compost for seeds etc and I have some plants that need re-potting. Its wrinklies day so we get a discount.............

OH is still woring on his puzzle, keeps him out of my hair.........I think I will use up the last of our home grown onions and leeks and make a pot of leek and lentil soup for lunch...............enough for 2 days should be fine.

Cleaned the bathroom, bed open airing, I have always done that, I leave it a couple of hours to kill off any bugs and then reamke it.

Nothing much else to report, will have a look at the laundry basket see if I have enough for a load................pillow cases will have to wait until next week, should have a full white load by then.

Morning all, I didn't get a w**k call this morning so am:j :j :j even though it's less money this month:o

It's been really windy here overnight, the dogs have been disturbed all night, and there's stuff out of other peoples bins all over my garden:mad:
I'm gonna clean later , then make a few batch meals for the freezer: veg lasagne, chick pea curry, and chana dahl.I might make a soup too if I can be bothered:D

Hello all !

Just when I thought we'd escaped the winds they rared up during the night. Not as bad as southern areas on Monday(we've had rain and now its sunshine) but bad enough for me to decide a better option was to stay indoors.............at least till my Counsellors appt. this afternoon and thats just across the road so not far to get windswept.....I'll still look like I've got a 'bad hair day' - which I have..........lol
Battled with a mop and bucket and a kitchen floor so that jobs done and didn't wrench my back as much as thought it would.............probably because I didn't do it as thorough as I should...........still it'll do.

Just need to work out what to have for dinner tonight now............haven't delved into the freezer yet so thats the next thing on my 'to do' list so I can get it all ready before my appointment.
