OS DAILY 12th march

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
good morning to you all.......
thought i would come and say hello, as i havent been on the daily for ages.
im still slimming and i have lost 10.5lbs in the last 4 weeks... so im pleased, im following slimming world and its great. im getting lots of support on the sw thread too.
well how are you all ? what have i missed. ?

Morning AMIE - you just beat me to it! I started the thread but have moved this one to yours because yours is first on the list of 'new posts'! Good to hear from you.
Morning everyoNE; I've been awake since 3am having had a restless couple of hours when I kept waking up. Gave up and got up, in the end and I'm now on my second cuppa!
SMOKY - thank you for last night's update and many (((hugs))) to you, Eric and the LOs. What a great wife and wonderful mum you are. I think you ARE being strong and brave. I'm so glad you've seen the GP and been signed off for the month and that you know you'll be signed off again when the month is up. That must take a lot of pressure of and will definitely help with the day to day things. Take as much advice and help as is offered and I do hope you are able to take time out just for yourself.
CATZNINE - I don't know if you read my last post last night but I thanked you for the info re the squares and said that I like the suggestion of using shades of orange, rust, red etc for the blanket. If those of you who want to knit squares - as many as you want - are you all happy with DK yarn in shades of orange as above, size 8 needles (not sure what that would be in Oz, AUSSIE!) and 8" x 8" squares over 30-32 stitches?
As I said yesterday, there will be no rush because I don't think it would be fair to put the pressure on; we all have our own commitments and priorities. Just pm me when your square(s) is/are finished and I will pm you my address. I will also take photos of the project as it builds up and you will have to tell me when you think it's big enough!
I managed to do some knitting last night - well, the sewing up part which I hate but has to be done; I shall search out some wool for the MSE OS blanket and then decide on my next project. Oh, yes - I've just remembered what the next one is - another little doll but this time in Chelsea football strip for DGS. My Mum loved the doll I made her for Mothering Sunday so I've decided to start a collection off for her and will make one for every occasion from now on.
Well, I'm in full waffle mode now but what's the betting that by 10am I'll be longing for a nap?! I want to go to the gym this morning so I'll try and keep going until then. I would normally collect DGS from school this afternoon but the school are having a disco so he won't be coming here for dinner. I've kept the afternoon free for him so I should be able to do some more sewing up instead. I must find out when they break up for Easter because that's not too far away is it?
Anyway, off now - I've rambled on enough! See you all later.

Hello Everybody,
Just got back from getting my haircut & shes cut my fringe way shorter than I usually have it so I look ridiculous.
Reminds me of school days when Mum cut it. Just given our internet provider a tingle as our modem still hasn't arrived  apparently it was marked as resolved and it hasn't been sent. A firm promise that tomorrow it will be done. DGS & XDIL came up to visit this morning and I've been doing some baking this arv & finished off my next dishcloth.
Moliere Do you mean you cast on 30 stitches?
My knitting needles that I'm doing the dishcloths say on them 5mm. I'll have to see what Size 8 is. What ply do you suggest? You can really tell I'm not that up on knitting can't you.
Amie Lovely to hear from you & well done on the weight loss.
Smoky Many <hugs> to you & hope the news continues to be positive.
Well off to get tea sorted. DH just got home and watering the garden. Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning Aimee399, Mioliere and all who follow,
the wind is really howling here and the rain is lashing really hard against the windows, this is what woke me up about an hour ago and is probably what set someones car alarm off down the road.
Smoky - it`s good that you have been to see the doctor and got an note etc, it`s one less thing for you to worry about. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon, we still all have our fingers crossed for you and your family.
Benthosboy - Hope that you have a much better day than yesterday and don`t feel so down, how did the beef turn out? bet it`s yummy.
Lyndsayann - you will love your slowcooker, i don`t think i`ve found anything i can`t cook in mine yet and everything turns out so lovely and goes much further. Which one did you decide on?
Well the dw has been emptied and the bm will be beeping any moment, the wm didn`t go on last night but will tonight.
Tea will be a pasta concoction that i found is really tasty, just onion softened with butter add a few mushrooms and chopped salami, cook the pasta and add red pesto sauce and mix the whole lot together. Very tasty and takes minutes to make, it`s also nice cold.
OOh it`s only quarter past six, am i going to be tired later! i`m on late shift - can`t you tell i`m having a lie in
Actually it`s just as well that i`m up as i`ve lots to do including calling on a relative later to let their dogs out for a while as they are both going to be out for a long time today so i`ll spend a good while there with them.
I`ll get a move on now and start the chores.
Have a great day everyone and try to keep dry.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

Morning all
Haven't caught up on the thread from yesterday, got home late from work. HUGS to all those who want one.
SMOKEY hugs to you and your family, glad you've got some sick leave sorted out.
It's very windy here but dry and sunny, think I will risk putting my washing out, it should dry quite quickly if it doesn't end up in the neighbours garden
.
MIOLIERE I'm knitting 6 by 6 inch squares on 4mm needles. Only another 59 to go. Am doing it in various shades of blue and green for DS room.
Off to work later. Need to do some studying this morning. Well done Aimee on the weight loss. When I have finished all this studying, I really must get my head around it all, only have a stone to loose.
Off to have a shower and wake DS up. Have a good day all.

Morning All from blustery Yorkshire
Hugs to the Smoky family. Docs must think things are a little brighter, otherwise they wouldn't have done the trachy. (Much more comfortable for OH when he wakes up than being intubated.
)
I've being trying to Fly, but failing dismally
. OH sometimes works from home, so using the hoovver or washing machine is a bit difficult due to the noise being heard in telephone calls. It's a great excuse and I'm sticking with it.

Did a big shop yesterday, so were full to the gunnels. Meal plan made for the next week too :A.
Today I'm spoiling DD2(11). She has a hospital appointment over in Leeds this afternoon for more tests following on from a seizure she had at school before Christmas. Last time she went she was sooooo stressed about it (bless her little heart
) So this time she is having the whole day off to come with me this morning to visit a friend's puppy-to-be at the rescue centre. She never, ever takes time off unless she's really poorly (the rule in our house is if you're feeling a bit under the weather go to school first and if you or the teacher think you need to come home then I'll come to get you straight away). All being well spending a bit of time not thinking about hospital in the company of a small ball of fluff  will relax her a bit.
Well, best get on. Hugs to all that need them :grouphug:

Morning everyone.
Hope you are all ok, nice to hear from you aimee.
Lots planned for today, need to make sure all my jobs are done before tommorows meet, so plan on preparing tea for today and tommorow, getting all the ironing done and have a good old tidy up. Plus need to collect some bits for my friend from freecycle later this evening.
Have a good day all

Morning all
It is blowing a gale here this morning, taking the dog out in a bit, and with all the weight I am losing, I might get blown away
Amie, watch that Aussie woman, she told me yesterday I can eat lots of bread and sticky buns - checked my SW book, and can't find that bit - maybe it's different down under :rotfl:
Smoky, thanks for keeping us updated, I really don't know where you are getting the strength from, but we are all sending you lots of hugs and postive thoughts
Work today, so good old slow cooker will get used again, lindsayann, you will soon wonder how you lived without it
Have a good day everyone, stay safe in this horrible weather xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever
