  • Morning all,
A Quick hello before I get in the shower. Blowing a hoolie here and the rain lashed down overnight but bright and sunny now.
Got my first SW weigh in for a month today. (couldn't go while i was doing my temping job). Should still be roughly the same but I'm not accounting for the new BREADMAKER that was purchased whilst I was doing said job and the damage which may have been wrought by eating its offerings:rotfl: :o

Don't know whats for dinner tonight. WM BM and DW NOT put on:eek:

    Smokey -((()))

Hope you all have a good day best wishes and hugs to all.

Thanks for posting Smokey, take care.

I have my 1st lunch duty today, I thought it was starting next week.
I'll be armed with a walky talky, we were all told not to put ourselves in danger if a fight breaks out & given instructions on the guidelines for physical intervention. Then they said I could ignore all of it as all the kids are bigger than me anyway!
Charlies Mum, I've sent you a pm.
Have a good day one & all.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All

Blowing a gale here as well, oh is on his way to work but if theyve shut the bridge again it will be a while before he gets there.

Plan for me today - will clean kitchen worktops and sink but thats probably all the housework that will get done, need to do some paperwork this morning & ironing this afternoon.

Congrats to everyone losing weight, it seems to be going the other way at the moment but I am not really trying.

Have changed menu plan slightly and we are having roast chicken with chips peas and salad tonight - I had forgotten that its DS parent/teacher evening.

Thats it for now, have a great day.

    Morning :hello: :hello:

Smokybabe - Glad to hear the trachy went well hopefully that will make it easier for them to keep him oxygenated. My thoughts are with you as ever

Still in Cardiff and it has got really windy overnight just seen a couple of large bins going flying down the road which you wouldnt want hitting you:eek:

Got a half day with the team today on site to see if they can put everything they have learned into action. As soon as I can though I will be hitting the road as it sounds like its really bad back in the North West. The M6 is closed at my junction thanks to 7 lorries overturning - joy of joys.

Got a few days from home now whilst I have my neighbours dog to look after - really glad as it will make me get out for walks every day and give me a chance to get some home stuff done. Could do with a freezer clear out again then I can fill it up with some new recipes I want to have a go at.

    Right thats enough waffle

Whos going to the meet tomorrow?

    Hugs to all

  • Morning all,

not managed to contribute/catch up for a couple of weeks (where on earth did they go?? was I in a coma for a while..????). Life been absolutely manic, can't wait for the Easter hols. Doing a training course yesterday & today on Domestic Violence & the impact on children; very interesting.

Hugs to all that need them - hopefully over weekend will do some skimming back over past daily threads to update how people have been.

Got home yesterday to find little sis here (22) cooking roast dinner for whole family :):) Good job as I haven't managed to plan/think/do anything except live in a blur.....

Better get up & moving now, 7.30 already. Porridge with demerara sugar for brekky I think. Dinner - no idea.

    Morning all,

Can I ask a very quick question before I get started ? I asked OH to get diced turkey out of the freezer last night, when I got down this morning he had got a huge whole duck out  , not a lot of difference really;) , I was keeping the duck for sunday when my dad is round for lunch, but will have to cook it today now, can I cook it in the SC ? I have never tried, but thought I could and then freeze it for Sunday.

Anyhoo, Hello Amie, had been wondering where you had got to, well done on the weight loss xx

Smokey thinking of you all xx

Kathy, our easter holidays start on the 4th April, this year, yours might be the same, its no where near easter weekend, as that would have made the half term too short, so they have easter weekend then back to school for a while then off for two weeks

turkey supreme for tea, turkey is a lot cheaper than chicken :D , off to w**k today, think I have some forklifting to do :D so watch out if you are in my area.

DD has the first showing of her dance performance today, they are showing it to a local primary school, hopefully me and mum are going tomorrow night (still no tickets  )

Well have good days all, see you later xx

Have no idea Ruby, never tasted Duck let alone cooked one. But I think I would roast it rather than cooking in a SC. Are they fatty? Wouldn't it just be cooking in a pot of oil? Yuk. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Sue - thanks for the holiday info; I'll have to ask DIL when DGS and DGD will be off for Easter. I'm afraid I have no idea about doing a duck in the SC. I do know that they are very fatty so might not be suitable. No doubt, someone more duck-experienced than me will be along soon with the right advice! Good luck with the fork-lifting and the duck-cooking - I wouldn't try and say that if I'd had a drop of Vino Collapsio!

    JANNYANNIE - that's a lot of squares!

AUSSIE - Our No8 needles are 4mm - my collection of needles is years old so most have the old measurements on them! Cast on 30 - 32 stitches depending on your tension. On another note, you should not have mentioned your fringe - I can imagine HARIBO right now, with a manic grin on her face and chuckling with glee, seeing what pictures she can come up with!

Chicken casserole for us for dinner tonight - will prep the veggies in a minute. Have some bottom-of-the-fridge mushrooms to go in it, plus scrapings from the veg box of two manky slightly bendy carrots, half a starting-to-shrivel courgette, a good-looking onion and half a sweet potato that still looks edible even though it's nearly two weeks old. Lucky we've got cast-iron stomachs!

    WELL, I'm waffling again.

    See you later.
