What is your pet niggle when staying in hotels?

Definitely the lack of good lighting by the mirror and lack of a socket near it. Also, sometimes you can't get your adapter into the socket without unplugging whatever else is plugged into the socket adjacent to it (like the TV!)
Also, why do they put their hairdryers in the bathroom? All that moisture after your shower makes it hellish to dry your hair without it becoming a frizzy mop!
Also, they should have 2 seperate signs for "Do Not Disturb" and "Please Make Up Room" because I've had enough of pranksers turning the "Do Not Disturb" sign around in the middle of the night...
Never had to pay for a safe though. That's a new one on me.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0 -

Hotels that boast of a range of facilities on their web site that on arrival turn out to be significantly substandard or do simply not exist, or only in "premium" rooms. For example, hotels think "satellite television" is restricted to BBC1/2, ITV, C4 and BBC news, and a five radio stations.
Also pictures on the website of the swimming pool which appear to be near olympic size, but you would have difficultly drowning an ant in.
And if I ask for a 7am breakfast, that means 7am, usually because I have to be out early to do something like catch a flight. If I wanted breakfast at 7:45 I would order it for then.
And having the room that everyone must traipse past on the way in - usually by a fire door that slams every ten minutes, or by a lift which goes "bing bong" nine times an hour.0 -
BBC World - why do hotels give the germans, french and spanish all their channels and we get sky news and bbc world. nothing more annoying than 5 hours of news of an evening. he best hotel was at the clinic at the blue lagoon iCELAND, they had channels 1-5 so I could watch corrie after my dip.0

Would that be Bill's?My favourite budget priced hotel in Vegas has rooms bigger than most of the strip hotels standard rooms and a window that opens in the bathroomThere is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -

I was thinking the same. Nothing like looking out on the strip whilst taking a shower!0 -

The fact that Travel Inn and Travelodge still can't detect channel 5 on the T.V.'sThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I can put up with most things in hotel rooms except all the light that comes in from the hallway through the cracks and spaces round the door and from the security lights outside that are pointing straight at the window and as the curtains never come close to closing properly and are usually 2 inches shorter than the window it is like a laser show at a disco.0
