Bring back the days when you could only get concert tickets via the organisors. Fake tickets back in those days would have vbeen far easier to do, but were at the same time far less common.
Heck, now you dont even need to be scammed with a fake ticket, and have even LESS chance of finding the culprit.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Hi all.
Police interview was fairly straight forward except for remembering back to march when I booked them! I guess I will only hear now from the police when and if something happens! They took all the information I had found out.
I'm on vacation for 10 days on Monday so I'll be a bit quite on the forum.
Keep going everyone.

Dear Marleyboy
My sentiments exactly - have compiled a folder for my local MP containing newspaper articles copies of my emails from SFT, information about this site etc.
Event organisers, internet providers and the government have got to take some resposibility for the mess that we have all been caugt up in. Unless they do something NOW - can you just imagine the scams that would take place in the run up to the 2012 games.
I want to carry on campaigning, cos my fear is that once the V festival is over - refunds given to those who paid on their credit cards, that this will all get forgotten until the next time - these scams much run into hundreds of thousands of ££££££'s - thighter restrictions need to by imposed. At the very least VISA DEBIT CARD users need better protection.
I am still getting emails from SFT telling me that i will get a refund !!!!! Well if this is fact I wish they would JFDI !!!!!!!!!!!!!
SID - enjoy your break0 -
Perhaps the high-profile case of Rebecca Adlington's parents losing out on a Olympic Games ticketscam might make the government think hard about clamping down on rouge ticket agencies.
I think certain organizations such as Wimbledon and the RFU already ban third-party agencies from selling their tickets. This should be the rule and not the exception. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I actually work for London2012 and this will not occur then there will be enough safeguards in place and the marketing before thegames in terms of the only official outlets selling these. There are also possible plans of biometrics being used for the cards/tickets0

Hi all,Right, a further update. Have just been in touch with my bank's (Lloyds TSB) Debit Card Disputes team (0845 3006699 - long wait due to volume of calls, so below are the important points from my conversation) - there have been thousands of complaints today about various dodgy comanies and V tickets. They have said the following to me: - Multicards have now gone into liquidation. Apparently, it was not them who were at fault, but their suppliers, but due to the volume of complaints, they've gone under too. An investigation is underway by VISA, amongst others. - Debit cards are covered by insurance for goods not received. They have said to put the complaint in writing (too many for them to deal with over the phone), and take the letter into your local branch. - Details to include in the letter: - For Attention Of: Debit Card Disputes - Account details - Date of transaction - Amount - Company that took the cash - What you were buying - Date that you expected the tickets to arriveThey will then look into your claim and should refund the cash within 1-2 weeks. This clearly doesn't mean that I got to go to V Festival, but it's some consolation that we'll get the cash back. I hope your banks are as co-operative as mine.Best of luck.0
