Don't think my link is working but it's easy to find via google - 08700054590 At the bottom of the Evening Standard article there is an opportunity to add a comment I have been on my soap box. Please everyone go on the site and have your say - it can only draw more attention to how big this scam really is and as the paper has already printed a story it proves they are interested
  • For all those people who have paid for tickets by Debit Card and have been scammed by these sites, please contact your bank, you may have some cover if the company is fake, as the purchase was made on-line. I contacted Abbey National and they are sending me some forms & I should get money back within 10 days of returning the forms.

They did say that if the company is bankrupt it may be harder but if they are scammers we are covered by the bank.

Also the more people that contact their banks about this the more pressing they will see the issue.
  • GMSamiand - might be better to try and find the NON-EMERGENCY number to report this. i.e. in Essex this is 0300 333 4444. This ensures that emergencies only are dealt with by 999.

  • It seems that the list we have so far of money that has been conned is at least £12406. That is unbelievable! And that is just a handful of people, out of the probable hundreds that have been conned by the various sites.

Hi Linpen. When I was checking out Durban Vienna on Companies House I found the director was Terence Butts and his address. I didn't quite feel like giving it out on the message boards and the police have it now.

There was another company in the chain - Graeme and Company who previously owned Durban Vienna. I called them up but they said they only set up and register companies. I asked if they have any details of the new owners but they didn't. Seems a shame they didn't have a home number?

All this investigating/rallying around is making me tired!

Could this be the elusive Terence Butts under another name?

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2008/08/06/olympic-shame-briton-brains-behind-25-million-tickets-scam-115875-20685997/

If it is, there are hundreds of websites scamming, not just us for V tomorrow ( i'm going to miss so bad! )but Olympics, football etc.

I have given all I had through to the Police for my case, and as I paid by credit card, I'm hoping all is well, as for the 1974 credit act sec 75. Someone stated in an earlier post for those who paid with a debit card there is 120 days to file a claim, but if you have only just found out, surely that timeframe starts from when you were informed?

Good luck all! Don't ever give up!

    Hi all

Another victim here. Just wanted to add my amount to the ever growing list - £870

Can't really add anything to the comments that everyone else has already made. Just gutted, purchased tickets by phone on V festival release date, March 7th and had e-mails along the way from SFT re camp site colour and when to expect tickets.

Have informed bank, £870 for 5 tickets purchased on debit card (oh, why, oh why in hindsight) bank sending forms etc etc.

Have been to the police who like everyone knows can't do anything yet - told me to go back on Monday. Called OFT who called back to say it was being investigated and they had received a number of calls.

Not even going myself - tickets were for my son and his friends.

Anything I can do please advise, good luck one and all on us trying to get refund. What a week....
  • I too am in the same situation, used a debit card and now have no ticket and no refund. However i have been onto local police and Trading Standards. As a result i have found out that a letter should be sent indicating a breach of contract. A recorded letter needs to be sent indicaing this....but, i dont have the address to send a letter to. LINPEN i see that you have also sent a letter, would you be so kind as to post us the address you have used so that we may do the same

    Thanks
