Hi Sidney Sideboard
Please don't beat yourself up about not applying for a chargeback earlier - i tried to do so - but was told that i had no proof that my tickets weren't going to arrive, so the company hadn't (at that point) done anything wrong.

The only action i know is to report it to the police trading standards and watchdog the more of us that complain the better chance we have of putting an end to this scam.

regards
lin
• The 120 days notice period only runs from the date when you knew the goods would not be delivered. Barclays tried the same argument with me and I simply argued back and they are now investigating. DO NOT let Barclays talk you down. If you have paid by credit card, including Barclays Visa, the credit card company are jointly liabile under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. They cannot quote Visa Regulations at you and then deny that it is a Visa card. They are likely to refund your money but you will have to argue for it. As with anyone who is liable, they will initially try to dodge liability.

The website has now shut down and the email address sales@summerfestivaltickets.com is no longer valid. We therefore have little option but to pursue our credit card issuers for a refund. However, it is quite tempting to find the office of this guy and seek vigilante revenge!

Good luck to us all.
• Hi, thanks fort that last post I had forgotten that my partner and i had also tried to stop the payment to SFT a few hours after making it back in march and was also told by the bank that they couldn't stop it ,as until the tickets don't arrive....no fraud has been commited and they said it was illegal to stop payment!!!! I'll remind the bank of this!

As instructed by my bank and trading standards I've just registered a letter to sft - the women who served me in the post office said her brother had got caught up in a similiar scam last year over V tickets !!
Clearly not enough is being done - but i'm at a lost what to do now. Does anyone have any ideas - at least we may stop it happening again next year.

:money:??????????????????????????
• Add my name to the list. I lost £750 for four tickets.

My credit card company MBNA said I would have problems getting a refund because the confirmation E-mail I received from Summer Festivals does not specify what event the tickets are for. i.e. I could be trying to scam them after already attending a previous gig. As Knibby says though, they're not going to jump at handing out compensation. I've sent everything off anyway and I'm not someone who gives in easily.

Good luck to you all.
• Just wanted to let all you guys know that my friend and I received our V Festival tickets from vfestival.net this morning (at the same time as our other two tickets from ebay arrived - following reading sites like this one we panicked that the site was a fake and bid for more on EBAY) now we have two spare weekend camping to the Stafford venue going spare, will take £300 for them - if any1 wants them my email is glclever@hotmail.com

Thanks

Gail, you cannot advertise on here. It is against MSE rules. Please delete your post (click on Edit, then it should be self explanatory).

Please nobody buy these tickets, the poster is new today, and whilst they do appear genuine, you have absolutely no guarantees that they would turn up.
Gone ... or have I?
• Me and my friends bought 5 V festival tickets from this site on a debit card for £860 and were recently told the same thing, that we would not receive the tickets! The card was Visa Electron and im not sure whether it has the same protection as aVisa Debit card. We did however receive an e-mail a couple of days ago from summerfestivaltickets claiming that we would get a full refund of £860, which we should recieve in 3-10 days. I think this is probably just a false claim to give themselves more time and wondered if anyone else has been told the same thing??? At the moment we are still planning to contact the police/watchdog/trading standards etc. as it is blatently a scam.
• Something interesting i also read in the terms and conditions of the summerfestivaltickets site:

In events where we can not deliver the tickets due to whatever unforeseen circumstances, your money will be refunded and a 25% discount given on whatever your next booking may be. You must also accept that we are not liable for any travelling cost or expenses incurred going to such countries, places and venues

Beware this website.
We purchased tickets on March 9 this year, for the V Festival to be held on 17 August 08 in Weston Park, for my sons 17th birthday present.

We were told tickets are issued about 10 days before the event, so were frustrated, angry, & upset to find an email arrive on Saturday 9th August 08 stating that we had no tickets, that their supplier had let them down, they had ceased trading and to claim via our credit card.

Have checked this eve & their website is still running, so they have our money and are still conning people.- is there nothing we can do to stop these scammers?
