I have managed to get hold of four more tickets from another site, but this time at a cost of £1525!! I paid on a credit card this time, as it seems to be safer, and I just hope the tickets materialise.
I also hope the barstewards get their come-uppance, but I guess we'll never know.
Debit cards are not protected on purchase like credit cards are for a value of £100 of more. Not sure how you got your cash back.
As for these getting their comm-uppance, not likely, they will just spawn more and more sites that they know concert/festival goers will pay heaven and earth to go to.0 -
I too have fallen victim to this scam website. I purchased 2 X tickets on my Credit Card in March and have tried to contact regarding a refund but surprise surprise no response.
Am I covered for this type of protection because I paid on a Credit Card? Can I claim a refund via my Credit Card Company? If so how do I go about it?0 -
WHEN I SPOKE TO THE OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING THEY ASSURED ME IF I HAD PAID BY CREDIT CARD I WOULD DEFINATLY BE ASSURED OF MY MONEY BACK AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME(NOT SURE HOW LONG) ALSO I WOULD HAVE GOT MY MONEY BACK FROM MY DEBIT CARD IF I HAD CLAIMED WITHIN 60DAYS OF PAYMENT BUT AS I BOUGHT THE TICKETS IN MARCH I AM NOT COVERED!!!! I just hope the brains behind this scam gets to share a cell with someone with an anger problem!!!!
if you phone your credit card company with the dates and amounts etc, their fraud department will sort it all out for you even if you dont have protection on your card.0 -
Just checked out one of D.V's other dodge pot web site www.offthewalltickets.com and surprise surprise they are STILL selling tickets for V, at both sites. so if you are thinking of buying last minute V fest tickets (impossible through official routes) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER SITE OPERATED BY THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can see at the bottom of the site operates it, please check!0

If I had found this website in March I would probably not have bought my V tickets through this company! My cc company are initiating an investigation and have confirmed that I will be refunded but am now very wary of buying anything else on line. Have also contact trading standards but they can do nothing without a company address. I know there was one on the website but now cannot access it. If anyone has it please contact their local trading standards office who will forward on the info. Also you can contact the receivers office on 0845 602 9848 but don't expect a refund from them.
Good luck everyone and lets try and prevent this happening again!0 -
got ripped off for 1800 by the same company, if u've paid by credit card u should be alright but debit card ur stuffed. durban vienna run as an it firm selling anti virus software etc, they are not an umbrella firm for summerfestivals and the other sites they have set up running the same scam durban vienna are a scam company themselves.
type in the phone number (summerfests number) into google 0870 005 4590 and u'll get these company names. google the names and u'll find loads of forums like this one ful of people who've been ripped off by this group. all sites send the same email saying the suppliers have let them down.

the fact that they have a registered address, if legit means they may be traceable as with the 0870 number. someone will need to have registered to get these so someones real name will be recorded somewhere. i emailed all of this to watchdog, it took me ten minutes to get this much on them, theres loads more.
hope this helps anyone tryin to get their money back. good luck0 -
all of these dodgy sites are using the same number by the way. so if u've rung before u will have noticed that the person picking up simply says hello and waits for ur enquiry as opposed to the usual, most places will say what company u've rang when they pick up the phone. obviously this lot cant because they've got god knows how many running out of the same place. the phone number is where they've cocked up on this one0

I have also been caught up in this scam
Unfortunately I paid on a visa debit card and the orginal transaction was more than 120 days ago so i can't get a refund using charge back
Its hard to believe that with all the information supplied by this forum that DV and his many sites can continue to operation. Why aren't the authorities acting???
I have contacted the police, watchdog and trading standards and urge everyone to do the same - we must keep up the pressure
I am now thinking of contacting my MP - something needs to be done to prevent this happening again
Lets face it none of us actually wanted a refund just the tickets we had ordered and paid for.
Thanks to everyone0
