I have also been caught up in this scam
Unfortunately I paid on a visa debit card and the transaction was more than 120 days ago
Its hard to believe that with all the informationtion supplied by this forum that DV and his many sites can continue to operation. Why aren't the authorities acting
I have contacted the police, watchdog and trading standards and urge everyone to do the same - we must keep up the pressure

    Hi linpen,

    Welcome to MSE.

Could I ask which bank have told you this?

I have experience of making chargeback claims over longer time periods with Barclays.

Edit: Sorry, have just seen this. Looks like I was just lucky with Barclays (and the claims were last year) x
    Gone ... or have I?

    Hi dmg24
Thanks for your response (please say there is hope then??) - I too am with Barclays and was told on Saturday that i needed to contact summer festivals direct - (what a joke) and ask for a refund, as they are in breach of contract. I emailed SFT and got the same email back telling me they couldn't supply me with the tickets. Trading Standards have also alerted me to the 120 days chargeback restiction. Again they told me i should write to SFT and send the letter recorded post. Trading Standards gave me a ref no and told me to ring again if i did not get a response.
Barclay's have said they would sent me out a form and they would equally try to claim my money back - no guarantees given though
    Thanks for support
  • I have also been stung by these scum bags!

At the time of buying i spoke to my Bank - Barclays, and said am i covered and they told me if the tickets do not i will receive a refund.

Now i have called barclays they have said i will not get a refund as i 120 days has passed which was not said in the original conversation.

Is there no way of tracking down the owners of the company?
  • hi, thought I'd add my 2 cents as well. Myself and my mate have been scammed too, we got an email sat night at my best mate's b-day, to say it killed the night is an understatement, as about 10 of us all bought tickets from them, bar stewards is all I can say! What goes around comes around, I really would like to know where their office is, as you can't click anywhere now, you can only contact them by email. My mate bought them on debit card so we're fcuked. Other thing is, we were supposed to be staying with our other mate in the yellow bit, now she's gonna have to stay on her own, as we can't afford to buy another set of tickets. WHy WHY, What complete !!!!!!s!!! I need some freebies,

Fortunately not me - my sister booked bought one ticket from this 'company' on behalf of her friend, using my mum's (unfortunately) debit card. At least the friend paid my mum for the ticket, so she's not out of pocket, but I'm really incensed that they've been scammed like this.

I was cheered up for a minute when she told me it was a Visa debit card, but as others have said it's past the 120 day chargeback limit so I doubt she'll get any joy from Abbey on a refund.

My mum's of the opinion that she should leave it, now, as it's not worth the hassle of persuing them for a refund - but is there anything we can quickly and easily do to add our case to the Trading Standards/police file?
  • Another scamed, £650. Used debit card in march, I will, like the majority of you all report this to the trading standards and watchdog. Ihave read most of the comments on this thread and they are useful and interesting. thanks all. funny enough I dont live too far from durban vienna supposed registered address, have a good mind to go down there.
  • I have also been scammed by this con artist, however I did manage to track down the IP address of the site and some further details. It looks like summerfestivaltickets is connect to another site, offthewalltickets.com, there are phone numbers on there so I suggest you get calling.
I have contacted consumer direct and they have advised that you need to write requesting a refund, as the seller is in breach of their contract if they do not refund you for goods not received. They also told me that under a certain act, credit card companies are obliged to assist you in a situation like this, ie cover some of the cost.

Please log it with the Police, Watchdog and Trading Standards - Trading Standards will give you a ref no and the Police will give you a log no.

Write a short letter to Summer Festival Tickets, send it recorded delivery stating that they are in breach of contract and you want a refund from them as 120 days has lapsed and you can not claim a refund via charge back.State also that you want a reply within 10 working days. It is only then, if you don't get the refund that sft have broken the law.

I am pleased for the people who used a credit card - they should get a refund - but lets not forget it is SFT who should have given us our money back when they didn't supply the tickets. (Can't help but wonder if all our monies are now in Vienna:mad: )

It is unbelievable that they can continue to operate.

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE - WHY SHOULD THEY GET AWAY WITH IT
Mine and Scam Police's ordeal comes to over a £1000
  • Hi,

First post for me. I thought I was failry safe from scams because I am normally so careful but this shows you can never be too careful.

Feeling a bit gutted at moment as I bought 4 tickets for £610 on a debit card more than 120 days ago. It was for my girlfriends birthday.

Does anyone know a way round the 120 day limit for charge back which seems a little low for me?

I regularly go on this website and had I seen this thread earlier I would have applied for chargeback earlier.

Failing that is there any affirmative action we can take against these people?
