I've received the email too and I paid for the tickets on my Visa Debit card. I understand what someone has posted regarding a visa debit card having protection but does this still apply if I don't have any company details to pass on to Barlcays and if the company has gone out of business as they stated in the email?
Yes, Barclays will be able to source any information that they need through the merchant details.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Another one here been had........0

Their website is still going surely there should be a note on their from the administrators?0

I see yet another scam ticket agency has disappeared, leaving many disappointed customers. This follows closely on the heels of an agency which had promised, but not delivered, Olympic tickets. I wonder if some sort of regulation or licensing scheme could be devised to prevent this happening again? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I too was ripped off by summerfestivaltickets.com, i paid by debit card £350 and they took my money straight away for the tickets and i got the same email on friday just gone, office of fair trading say i can go on list of creditors but will probably never see my money again and abbey national say as it was over 60 days ago i cannot claim my money back from my bank!!! but they did say if i had paid by credit card i would be able to claim it back, so i guess its semi good news for all those who did. unlike myself who just paid another £350 on ebay for more tickets!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr0

I have had exactly the samething happen to me...I've contact my local Police who have said to go on the following website www.companieshouse.gov.uk which will tell you if they're a legitimate website or not. I've tried going on this website but their not able to check until tomorrow.
The police said that if it comes back that they're not legitimate, then contact the Police again and they will start to investigate it.
I hope this helps0 -
I'm in the same position, although Barclays have assured me that they will refund the £903 that I spent back in March. Why are Abbey not doing so, I wonder.
I have managed to get hold of four more tickets from another site, but this time at a cost of £1525!! I paid on a credit card this time, as it seems to be safer, and I just hope the tickets materialise.
I also hope the barstewards get their come-uppance, but I guess we'll never know.0 -
I also got stung by the above website - they took my money from my credit card back in March and only contacted me Friday to say they didnt have any tickets for me.
The thing that winds me up is that I called them not long after we had booked them to double check the transaction had gone through and they were actually pretty rude to me too - just to add insult to injury.
It makes me sick that people can get away with doing this - especially as now my friends and I cannot afford to buy any more tickets till we get our money back so will nto be going to V Festival this year - something we have been looking forward to for months.
There must be something that can be done to stop this happening to others in the future??
Also, can I just confirm that if you paid by credit card you can definately claim your money back?0 -
I have checked them out with companies house and the parent company called durban vienna are registered, they own SFT and as far as i can tell are still trading on the net. They have an office registered in station road, harrow, middlesex. the full adress is on the durbanvienna.com website. although i do think i phoned the telephone number that is also on this site and they hadn't heard of the company, all very fishy but have a look at the site and try phoning them tomorrow see if you get anywhere.0
