Thanks.
Thanks.

Apart from mega quantities of egg fried rice?
I think you can use them anywhere you would use ordinary onions - a curry? or a quiche perhaps.
I am sure someone will be along soon with more ideas. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Onion soup? Bung them in with some normal onions, fry them off, add some stock and simmer for a bit - laddle into bowls and add a hunk of french stick - grate some cheese over the top and bung under the grill......yummmmmmmy!!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Spring onions are a must for my weekly shopping list -just like garlic!!!!!
There great for all kinds of stir frys.
And because i always tend to have some in the fridge I would use Spring onions instead of leeks for making shepherds pie.
I use Spring oniong as a subtitute when I have'nt got any chives, e.g; when i make a mash.
Great with salads, soups or a last minute touch on your dishes.
Or if you got a whole bunch to waste, Bash the ends of the spring onions abit with the side of a heavy knife and dip then altogether in required Marinade and use them to brush you meats instead of pastry/ BBQ Brushes. So you will some hints of spring onion taste with your BBQ.0 -
I also use chopped spring onions as a garnish on pasta, soups, noodles, whatever really! I like the kick it gives! I get through loads!

Hello, with 4 packs you're not going to want them to taste the same:
Idea 1 - steam them like baby leeks, and use as a normal vegetable.
Idea 2 - use as a normal salad onion
Idea 3 - I use them lots as a basis of stir fry vegetables, can pad our with thinly sliced cabbage, and slivers of carrot to bulk up. Buy a cheap pack of bean sprouts. Then use with rice to accompany something grilled. Add Soy sauce or fresh ginger to change the flavour.
Idea 4 - With cream cheese or cottage cheese as a jacket potatoe filling.
Idea 5 - In standard Italian style pasta sauces, cut down on the onions and use the spring onion instead, but watch out, they don't need as much cooking. The green bits add a different texture and taste which we like.
Idea 6 - If you're planning a meal with dips, use them to 'dunk' in the dips! My family is keen on oven baked camembert (15 to 20 mins in a hot oven) as a treaty pseudo fondue, very quick and easy. All you need after that is a french stick and some carrot sticks, and you're nearly there!!
Good luck with the onions0 -
just use them anywhere you'd use a normal onion.
recent discovery to use them in soup - in lentil soup or veg broth. the helpful veg asst in sainsbury's gave me that idea when she was reducing the spring onions.0 -

Potato salad! Boil potatoes, add mayo and chopped spring onions. Ooh and chives if you have them. *salivates*
There's a whole thread on possible variations round here somewhere0 -
