None of them, Doozer's property is the other side of the village from the river, so the whole village probably goes first... unless there's an anomaly of land lie.

    *GASP*

Have you taken leave of your senses girl?! Don't you know theres a house price crash going on!!! In the words of Kevin just before the ad break - Will you get through the winter without the roof properly sealed??? What happens if the local authorities won't grant permission for the artic lorry to deliver the new cess pit? What if your modernist architectural dream turns into a Le Corbusian pastiche? YOU MIGHT DIE (Mr. P and I always joke about that last one while watching GD)

    OR...

Excellent news! Enjoy the ride :)

oh you didn't - it was the best ever - dappy cow forgot to renew her insurance on her million year old thatched cottage and then they had a chimney fire the week after or some such, practically razed the place to the ground. They mortgaged themselves to timbuktu and completely rebuilt it and then some. It was a peach when they finished though...

Blimey. How come I only ever get to see the rubbish episodes then?
    I love a good disaster
Currently watching Mr GD with a mad couple who started the build without having enough money, hoping to raise a mortgage on the value of the finished property (with no idea how much it would be worth), so they can actually pay the builder.

They're all barmy aren't they, and every week just about top themselves with the pressure, but it doesn't stop me from dreaming the dream...

I'd like to self build. Plot of land. Bang on a kit house. I'd live either in a mobile home on site while it was done, or, before the build I'd build an insulated brick-built good shed with shower/loo and a bedsit area and live in that with a combination microwave, toaster and washing machine. I'd only need something the size of a garage. So probably start by building a double garage sized thing and putting that in half.

Luxury then. Who cares how long it takes.

    Yeah, nice one buddy.

You can see the Severn and it's normal weaving course, just about. You can then see the main road running through on the right hand side of even the flooded river. Our house is up a hill to the right of that.

I gathered from the Rightmove map and a quick visit to the environment agency that it was ok (OK-ish. Its a bit close for me personally) .

    From the rightmove details:
    3. STABILISATION WORKS
Prospective purchasers are informed that works carried out under a building insurance claim were completed in 2001. Further details of this work are currently being obtained.

What does this mean? There were bad floods in 2001 IIRC

It just worries me a bit when people buy at auction, you exchange straight away and can easily be stuck with a right dog. You only have to watch "home under the hammer" on TV to see that.
