I can relate to that saying too, Mrs B!
My Mum's other favourite is "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions...." then she reflects on what Hell will be like when she gets there, hehe! I guess I'll be meeting up with her, after all the good intentions I have!
Today my intentions include surviving the rest of the afternoon at work, then cleaning the bathroom and having a quick tidy at home before my Dad comes round for dinner (my Mum's visiting family, and we don't want him to waste away, lol!) It will be an OS dinner, made by Mr Thrift this afternoon - chicken casserole and mash and veg, with enough left over for tomorrow's lunch hopefully. Then I'll make Curry Queen's microwave sponge pudding for after. Don't usually have pudding on a weeknight, but my Dad coming over is a good excuse!
I also need to get myself sorted out with selling stuff on ebay, but that's an intention that keeps getting put off, and I know I won't have ht echance to start tonight. Maybe tomorrow........ (by which time I'll have a whole new set of intentions to add!)

Too true Mrs Thrift - maybe we're secretly twins???
My good intentions today are still staring stubbornly back at me from my 'to do list'. You'd think that working with hubby running our own business (or trying to!!), and knowing how desperately we need to increase our income that I'd have a bit more get up and go. Unfortunately it all seems to have got up and gone.
Oh well - it's nearly 10 past 3 already and last thing I knew I was promising myself I'd only read a few more posts and would definitely start work again at 2pm!!!!I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -

Thought I'd catch up on a few posts before tea. DD's are driving me up the wall - their idea to stay in but now I wish i'd overridden it and taken them on a very long walk to wear them out!
Got to the farmers market this morning but forgot to check purse!!! Only had £5 so couldn't get everything I wanted.........probably a good thing - I don't need a dressed crab or kippers, I certinally don't need any bread or cakes.....didn't stop me wanting them tho!! Got some delicious strawberries and raspberries.....have started the DD's on natural yougert and we add our own fruit ...taking them a while to adjust to the "no sugar" thing....didn't want to start making my own yougert until I knew they'd eat it. The berries were picked at 5am this morning and I'm surprised there's any left! Got a lovely bag of plums too - I'm the only one who eats them tho so may have a go at making some jam...bit of a jam virgin so will see how it goes. Got some broccoli and runner beans for tea but only half the beans survived.....DD's started snacking on them....they love all veggies raw.
My friend arrived for coffee and looked on in horror as I tipped vinegar in the fabric conditioner dispenser of the machine.......she asked if I'd realised what I'd just done!!! :rotfl:
Thinking I may cut the grass after dinner --- but then again -- maybe I'll bribe DH too instead.

Evening all,
Poor Moggins - my thoughts are with you.
I have been very lazy in the summer holidays and made the leaning tower of pisa out of ironing, so I thought I would get cracking with it this afternoon. OMG - I ironed for two hours and the pile is still huge! And I have more washing on the line!
Have a good evening .0 -
Hope all goes well Moggins:grouphug:
Today was my 21st birthday again
As my DS is nearly 17,you can tell that is a bit of an exageration
DD bought me a lovely pot of 'Lavender' which is my favourite plant (I didnt have the heart to tell her it wasnt Lavender)
We went cycling into town to buy a long cable lock for the bike trailer (OH bought me on Sunday) and a policeman told me I was taking my life in my hands  riding in the road! I pointed out that someone had parked over the cycle path(as usual). Then we found the next bit of the cycle path to please him and got some very unfriendly glares from the people coming the other way on the very narrow pavement/path(its market day). I have decided to ignore all policemen in future (Anyway he was old enough to be my son!)
This afternoon we went to Canterbury to see the cycle barn and discovered it was now just a small pile of very old and unloved bikes in the corner of a second hand furniture warehouse! I did find 2 Cadfael books there for 50p though ,so it was not a completely wasted journey.
We had bought fish and chips for tea as a birthday treat and HM yoghurt and garden Blackberries for pud.
Ive just watered the garden veg plot (my dwarf beans are still growing) and hoed around.
Now time for a cuppa.0 -

Morning All :hello:
Not another good night and am so tired this morning.
We have my OT coming today with the stairlift person to see if we can get one fitted to our stairs as it curves round. I really hope so. Already been approved for stairlift and new bathroom with walk in shower-this will make my life easier and i can be more independant  I really hope it can be done as the only other 2 alternatives are-a floor through lift (I dont think so) or they have suggested an extension on back of house with a bedroom and shower room(our garden is only small anyway and was hoping for a conservatory in the new year-so not sure about this either.
Anyway, DD is going to the beach today with SIL and her kids. Will supply rolls, fruit, drink, crisps and biscuits for DD. SIL said not to worry as she is taking a huge picnic but dont want her to go with nothing. She sorted all stuff out last night (swim cossy, old towel, clean set of clothes, hairbrush (shes 10)
OH will be getting on with some more decorating in DD's room and hopefully the last few bits of wall paper in the hallway-its only taken him 2 years..lol
Other stuff: washing and hang out, sweep through and mop floors, tidy our bedroom (cluttered but awaiting OH to move computer & stuff out in the office-after we clear it out-has to be in next few weeks as he starts uni :wall: Sister bought me some plastic storage boxes with lids so going to sort as much as poss into them.
Have a great day.

:hello:
Good Luck PP with the stair lift!
Been up early too (since 4.20) this morning as the smell of smoke woke me. Came downstairs and realised that it was carried through the window with the
fog (that's why the detector didn't go off).
Didn't go back to bed (husband says I'm too wicked to sleep) as I find it difficult to go back to sleep so I looked through a couple of cookery books that I got in the charity shop yesterday and ironed a few shirts - which seems to have made no dent in the ironing pile at all
Taking a picnic lunch out to a nature reserve later this morning and using the BOGOF vouchers for the entrance fee that I got earlier in the year.
Made a chicken casserole last night and that's in the fridge so won't have too much to do later - after all that walking around, I'm sure I'll be fit for nothing:o
Bye all0
