Morning all :hello:
PP - you deserve a good rest!
We've already got one load of washing on the go - OH put it in! And I got brought a cup of tea.................. I'm slightly suspicious. However, I've been told to sort out another load of washing before I go as I'm off to London for the day!
I'm feeling quite nervous about the old tube thing in London, but you've got to do it haven't you? I've had arranged for a while to meet a friend at the Imperial War Museum (free entry, obviously!) to look at the exhibition that's there about the "Children's War". We figure that at some stage in our teaching careers we may well be asked to teach about World War 2, so this is our way of getting ideas.
Our supper tonight will be a lovely big salad. After getting back from holiday and weighing myself, we need to cut down on everything. We don't eat too badly at all, but evidently that's not good enough.
Ah well, have a good day everyone. :j :j

Got to go shopping today for milk as we've run out
Thankfully I have a carton of Long Life but OH doesn't like it, plus I have a tub of powdered milk even better though I was able to squeeze enough milk for me not to need to use either standbys
I've also got to put £5 on our leccy meter - we're getting it changed on Thursday (mix up at British Gas end - they only put in for us to have our gas meter changed last week, plus when I rang up they hadn't updated the account details to mine instead of OHs  As soon as I can we're swapping suppliers to someone with better customer service!) BUT I've got lots of washing and baking to do (electric oven) so £3 won't last
I've got to do this with DD in tow, which means that no doubt there will be complaints and the toys aisle will have to be visited  Which also means that I'll need to sort out the money in her piggy bank for her to take with her as I don't have the spare cash to pay for anything for her. Other than that, I think I'll get the washing done as I really need to get the towels washed (I slipped with a razor last night and got blood all over the towel & bath mat - fortunately once I'd stopped the bleeding with a plaster, I put the lot in the bath with cold water and washed what I could out straight away) I need to clean the livingroom and kitchen as well as some work in the garden weather permitting. What I really want to do though is curl up with a constant supply of tea and the TV but thats not likely to happen this century! :rotfl:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning.
I have tonsillitis! Great way to start a day - they are big and red. Im putting it down to stress and bad diet at the mo, so will be buying up plenty of fruit and veg today so I can try and get healthy again. Ill make something very healthy for dinner, but I dont know what yet.
Boyf's freind rang last night in a tizz - he broke up with his girlf and was in bits. I think he stayed in a B&B last night, but he is coming here today to stay for a few days - just what I need, another male around!!
Oh well, im going to take boyfs car and go out for the day, ive got so much I need to do so Im not going to sit around waiting for him to get his !!!!!! outta bed and drive me. (I like his car more than mine! Its newer and has things like sat nav and power steering...)
I think Ill email pigsback (no sign of my voucher yet) have a browse of some of the boards then I think Ill get on with it!

Good morning all.......
A day off!!! Asked DD's where they'd like to go to day, the beach, the library, into town, anywhere............and what do they want.......Can we paint nails, do some face painting, decortate some folders, make some cards, do some hairbraiding......I'm guessing that means they want 100% mummy time!! Well it beats spending money!!
Going to make some cakes this afternoon - got lots of odds and ends of choccy bars inthe fridge so will melt them all down for some toppings. Cottage pie for tea - the meat bits made just need to get some potatos done. Will pop to the farmers market today as well and pick up some fresh veg to go with it, seem to have used all my other veg up since I went shopping and I've a real hankering for some fresh crunchy veg.
Cleaned the tiles behind my cooker last night - gave them a good squirt with some hot water and vinegar - a quick wipe over and all the grease just lifted off. Another squirt of the mixture and a polish has brought them up like new.
Want to sort out some more fabric for patchworking later too - been using all my free samples to make a quilt each for DD's to take when they leave home , have saved both their 1st birthday dresses and plan to cut those up to add to each quilt as a reminder.....thought I might add a bit of school summer dress.......anything that will bring back a few memories.....
Right I must get on - Hope everyone has a good day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning My Lovelies.
Gutted i have to come back to work today after having yesterday off. I could DEFINATELY cope working part time or from home doing my job.
New washing machine was plumbed in my OH lastnight when he got in from work at 8.30. Was dead exciting,we sat and ate our tea on the kitchen floor leaning against the cupboards so we could watch it going into a spin cycle. Yes were sad but its exciting. Its the first thing we have bought like that. The freezer was a present, the oven is built into the work top and the old washer and fridge were reconditioned jobbies.Mam is coming to look at washing machine tonight, cant wait to show it off. It has green neon lights... its awesome
As OH is in 11.30-8 shifts, hes going to do a bit tidying and catching up on the washing while hes at home in the AM while im out, in exchange for his tea to be cooked ready for him gettign in from work. Its the least i can do.lol
Reheated HM slow cooker beef casserole. Was going to have it lastnight but we didnt have any tatties for mash and by the time the washing machine arrived it was just about too late to go to the super market as i would have had to get the bus there and its a LONG walk to the bus stop and back, especially if i had pots.
OH has toddled off to the Sainsburys and he sent me a text asking what "crippss" i wanted. I dont think the predictive text liked the word crisps. Making another batch of HM guacamole tonight if OH has remembered avocados as saturdays batch was REALLY yummy and deslih, and i ate most of it myself
Will report back later. im in the middle of job hunting ... STILL0 -
Morning all
Mr TM has taken the boys on a long walk through the woods today so I've just sent them off with a picnic. They all need the legs walking off them cos boys are getting to that grumpy stage and Mr TM needs to shift some weight
I have to get down to some serious holiday packing. Wahing machine is on, as is drier - line is already full. Need to do some cleaning too. BM was on overnight but there's only about 1/4 leftMay do another one later.
Will visit Dad this afternoon as Mr TM out this evenng. I have to pretend that I don't know he's had the worst news possible - mum told me last night but then Dad told her he doesn't want me to know yet as he wants us to go off and have a nice holidayI have to let him tell me what he wants today. At least Mr TM is being nice to me now. I told him I needed his support and that if I bit his head off or was moody, then to give a little more cos I'm so stressed.
I went for a full body massage last night - bliss. My back was so knotted and she's worked wonders. My feet have no pain in them at all this morning (apparently that's where all the toxins go to at night) Must get some more of those detoxing foot plaster thingies off ebay - phenomenal, really do work. Will get them after the hols, cos have to pay my credit card bills before I go away and this month's went well into 4 figures!! (All that curtain material and bits for the car)
Ok, off for a shower and then onwards and upwards etc0 -
Morning All ( I think it's still morning? My comprehension of time is now limited to wheter it's light or dark outside:rotfl:)
Please excuse spelling etc, typing one handed as Spud is being cuddled with the other
Well, apart from keeping on top of the washing up & sterlising and making the bed my days revlove around feeds and napping, although we are thinking of venturing out for lunch today to see how we get on, i have a craving for fresh air!

Sounds just like normal early parenthood
How are you getting on with cloth nappies?0 -
I've not been about for about a week. Was struck down with some horrible tummy bug-type-thingy. Was awful. Pain in my stomach so much like i didn't know what to do with myself. I went to the GP after 4 days of it to be given a prescription for Gaviscon (!?!) Kinda felt the GP didn't quite understand the severity of my symptoms! Anyway, I've shaken it off just about now. Need to get back on the OS horse again. OH and kids have been enjoying packet foods and takeaways while i was lying in bed drinking water and milk and eating only bread (HM of course!). OH isn't well so it's taken him all his energy to feed and dress the kids so I won't get at him for the takeaways he's had. Perhaps i need to start freezing HM meals incase of illness? When i started OS it was on the principle that if we eat well and OS normally then when we're ill then it's OK to eat takeaways as it's an exception to the rule. Maybe i should build on this now so we can have HM meals from the freezer.
I've planned sandwiches for lunch today with fruit for afters (need to increase their fresh fruit/veg intake!). It'll be mushroom chow mein for tea as there's some mushrooms that need eating up.
Nothing very OS has gone on this week. Apparently one of the kids asked OH for 'something from the slow cooker' when OH offered him a takeaway. Clearly OS is having an effect on the kids if not OH!!
Had a new cleaner start this week. WOW! i've never had such a clean house. Lovely lady and i was tired just watching her work!! I'll send her down to you Penny_Pincher! OH is still hoping i'll find a nice swedish cleaner or a spaniard - I'm just pleased to have a clean house!0
