Afternoon All
Well 3 days away went OK, apart from doing too much, but just glad that we got away  Been banished to the sofa with quilt and told not too move by OH and DS, not that I can move as in so much pain anyway..lol. I wish I wasnt ill-I hate it  Sorry, feeling a little fed up today
Well, anyway, OH and DS had their list of jobs to do...from meIm such a good delegator and practice makes perfect
They have between them done 4 washloads and dried on line, dishwasher emptied and reloaded, swept through, hoovered stairs, bins emptied, bathroom cleaned, toilet cleaned.
I have bagged up/wrapped 26 items that I sold on ebay this week. Total profit about £80.00 (after postage  ) and was just outgrown clothes and bits and bobs. I do take pride in my ebay and is my hobby-would totally be insain of I didnt ebay..lolHave also turbo listed another 14 items (after taking pics etc) and relisted what didnt sell over the last week. So feel like I havent just sat on my !!!!!! all day
We all had lunch of breaded haddock, mash and peas..yummy(haddock was frozen from Lidls and was probably the best frozen I have tasted £1.99 for a box of 5/6 pieces). Tea is going to be HM chips, eggs with bread and butter...and I'll probably have soup.
Have a good day.

have just enquired to madonalds hotels about using my clubcard deals vouchers for a night away in december...i have about 5000 points at the moment and that is £200 in deals..i can get a room, dinner and breakfast for £220!!! seems quite expensive but when you figure that its free money from tesco it seems quite good. thanks very much mr tesco!! anyway me and b/f will have been together a year we both work really hard and deserve a night off (and i have managed to get someone to have all 4 kids for the night!!)...i totally feel that this is good use of my vouchers as i cant go on holiday coz cant get kids looked after for more than one night. i cant wait!!!!November NSD's - 70

JAMIEDODGER wrote:morning all! due to a stupid oversight on my part...i have gone over my overdraft  which means im gonna incur blimin charges...totally my fault but it has now mucked up my whole budget...i hate paying banks anything!!!!!
will now have to reign in spending to absolute minimum until end of month and then i can see what exactly the charges are and redo my budget and account for chargeshopefully using any pin money to pay the charges.
JD, why don't you try phoning the bank to get them to remove at least some of the charges. There is a thread on the current accounts section about people taking banks (esp. Abbey) to court and winning over bank charges being punitive and not a true reflection of costs and therefore illegal. I too returned from holiday on Saturday to find that me and my partner had forgotten about two cheques that were slow to be cleared and we went over our limit by £65 for 4 days. We were notified that our charges would be £118  . I read up on it then phoned them and after quite a battle I managed to get them reduced by £60 to a 'mere' £58. Still hefty considering the amount and duration, but better than £118.
Why not give them a call, you have nothing to lose.
Good luck!

Hi all
B went shopping this morning but his Tesco bill was cut to £32 because it contained no meat, chicken, eggs, fruit or veg. He brought some Mediterranean bread which we had for lunch with olives and feta cheese in olive oil. Very filling - we don't want much else to eat today!
He's out there now painting the rest of the wall, the part that he can reach without a ladder. Beautiful fine day here. I'm sat here transcribing the 1861 census for the Freecen project.
Have a look at this: https://www.bigbarn.co.uk I had a lovely email back from them in response to mine a few days ago. We are starting a fight-back against the stranglehold of the supermarkets!

Have been very busy today mending the rest of the shed.OH made a new door for it on Sunday and I said I'd rub it down and paint it today (the whole shed)but once I'd removed the Ivy from nearly all of 2 sides,I realised the bottom slats were rotten,so I ended up using the good bits of the old door to mend it.Then I rubbed it all down with the wire brush and have painted all but the door with dark green ranch paint(we've had it about 22 years and I found it hidden in the big shed).
I forgot to put the BM on last night so had to rush down this morning and get a loaf started. Then got a load of washing in the machine which is now drying on the line.
We had Chicken stew with left over veg for tea and then DD's rich chocolate cake that she made yesterday.
OH found a new(second hand ) coat for DS for college as he's had his old one since he was 9(he's nearly 17 but it used to be huge on him,he liked the pockets). We didnt want him getting the mickey taken out of him because it was falling apart but he was very attached to it:rolleyes:
Anyway he immediately tried the new one on and handed me the old one for the bin:eek:.OH also found him a very nice fleece for his birthday so I mended the pocket where it had a tiny seam tear and thats put away till october.
Hopefully I'll get the door of the shed painted in a minute then all I've got left to do is the watering of the veg and Im done for the day.0 -
Having unpacked and caught up with the washing after a week away I thought I would check the garden to find that the blackberries have gone mad! Have just picked 2 large loads (1 for me and 1 for the neighbours). These were just from the first few bushes, there are loads more very ripe and waiting to be picked before they drop. Have just made 4 jars of blackberry preserve, not sure what to do with the others yet. Nice neighbours gave me a load of tomatoes and some courgettes. As I already have a goodly supply of my own I need to think of something inventive to use these up  Oh and tomorrow I get another organic fruit and veg box delivered .
I am in the process of setting up a work station for making cards (and quilts) in my dd's old bedroom now that she has vacated it. I found lots of cheap (half price)fabric and card making stuff, stamps, card, ink pads, stickers etc in Wales last week and am raring to go.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Not slept well last night, about 2 hours, couldnt get comfy as in alot of pain, and had an accident-so OH had to help strip the bed and put in washing machine. So today will be resting up on sofa..again with a good film or book
Jobs to delegate today to OH and DD are:
20 min blitz, wash loads x 4 (1 done, then should be empty), polishing lounge(i can do some of this sat on sofa), floors swept and moped. OH is going to get on with DD room decorating. DD her bedroom 20 min cleaning blitz
Going to attempt to make some banana bread today and gingerbread if Im up to it later.
Lunch is lamb chops, mash and veg which we all will eat and have a lightish tea later
Have a great day.

Howdy,
I hope your feeling better soon Penny Pincher. I had a crappy night's sleep last night as well. It's afternoon here now. I've been at work today. I've brought the clothes in and folded them and plan on going into the kitchen soon to get tea going. I caught up with a bit of letter (email) writing this arv. Now everybody owes me one. :T I had 5 to write. I cheated a bit though with cutting & pasting. The joys of email letters.
Hope you all have a nice day. The weather is lovely here today. Warm, sunny & breezy. I should of done the sheets this morning.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning (or afternoon!) everyone.
Hope you have a nice relaxing day PP and feel a lot better later.
Not much Old Styling going on today, Tuesdays are always manic from dawn till dusk. Chilli con carne from the freezer now merrily defrosting for dinner tonight (HM of course). If I get 10 minutes later will run round the house with the hoover as guests for dinner tomorrow.
Just off to work - have a good day everyone!
