Didn't call him over as I've only just read this thread, but I have emailed it to him at work :rotfl:

Welcome back, Vicky. Hope you had a lovely holiday and didn't suffer from MSE withdrawal symptoms too badly! ;)

Had an OS cleaning spurge yesterday. Gave the microwave a good clean with hot vinegar and cleaned all the grimey corners on the backs of the worktops. :o

Just got to get some proper work done now! Got a long list of jobs to get through so better get started.

I had a semi-OS birthday! Yay! Chilled out with boyfriend over breakfast, and tried my blackberry preserve on toast. It ran everywhere, as it's so runny, by design, but it was delicious! After opening my pressies (books galore and other lovely thingies!), we wandered out to the coastal path and along to a little beach that few of the tourists ever find. We had it to ourself, and we watched the sea, chatted and found pretty bits of shell. Then home to my boyfriend cooking me a roast, and a lovely bottle of Rioja! One of my presents from my boyfriend was a series of bookmarks he made me. I have a real thing for Japanese literature at the moment, and he's managed to find some Japanese images and motifs and got co-ordinating cardboard and tissue paper, and these bookmarks are so gorgeous, "to go in all your Japanese books"! What a star! He thought I may think they were just scraps of cardboard, but in fact they were one of my favourite pressies, because they were so thoughtful!

Also spoke to my brother, who was once unsure about the merits of organic food, and has just received his second organic veg box, and discovered the the butcher around the corner from him is well-known in Norwich for its local, organic meat! He was delighted with their first beef joint! Hurrah - people are coming to their senses, and good food WILL PREVAIL!!!

Spent yesterday sorting out DD's bedroom. All went well and I've only had to throw away 2 small jigsaws (she'd chewed the sticky out bits off of them ) some hairbobbles which had seen much better days and a book which was split beyond repair and too young for her now as well. I've sorted out all her clothing and she has a huge pile of "too big really but can be worn" clothing in one of those hanging shelves things, all her non-stained clothes (except shorts) are now on hangers (or in the ironing pile which has been sitting there for a week :o) and all her stained stuff can go in the drawers for her to help herself too. Hopefully this will cut down on the amount of ruined clothes. I've got a mending pile, a donate pile and a re-home pile now sitting in my bedroom as well as her dolls house (which is in bits) which should be painted this week. All her dressing up clothes are washed and on the line (I love my new machine as it has a "silk / curtains" wash which doesn't spin as well as a cold wash. No more shrunken/creased dressing up clothes :D)

I spent Saturday night crafting - I sat and made up loads of "toppers" for Xmas cards (inspired by Craft Day on QVC) now all I need it the cards/envelopes :j

Todays plan : Washing up, laundry, sort out masterbedroom which is a dumping ground after yesterday, weekly clean, ironing and maybe some baking. I know I've got to at least cook something for tea :rotfl:

Next week DD is going away for the week (leaving Monday sometime) to stay with her Nanna in the Lakes but instead of a couple of days peace I'm going into work with OH (he's an IT Technician at a secondary school) to help him out! He's only been there officially since last September (he used to work there as a contractor in his old job) so there is software, cables, paperwork and basic junk (read : old equipment) that needs sorting out which he just hasn't got the time to do. He had such a pleasant way of asking me as well :
I'd suggested that instead of leaving to pick DD up on the Saturday morning that I go to work with him on the Friday (originally planning on just sorting out the piles of software for him and cataloguing them) and then we could leave for the Lakes from there, cutting about 40 minutes of the journey time off and getting out evening meal there ;) So Friday he comes home and says "You're booked in for the full week DD is away" "Huh?" "Well there is so much to sort out I think I'll need you for the full week pwease?"
He's just emailed me a word document with photos of his office and what needs sorting out (so I can mentally prepare myself!) and added at the bottom "If you manage to finish that could you do the server room as well?" and included pictures of that. To say that 4 days (I'll loose the Monday due to having to see DD off ) will be pushing it is an understatement. Both rooms look like a before on How Clean is Your House? except they look clean, I think . I'll give him some credit though, he does try but he is the only technician and has over 200 computers too look after based all over the school on both the curriculum (used by teachers and pupils) and Admin (office staff) networks. I'm hoping that by going in and getting it all organised for him he should be a little less stressed next term ;) Where I start I'm not sure, but I think I'm going to be worn out and sleep REALLY well next week :rotfl: I've suggested that it will be a good trial to see whether we can really cope if I went out to work full time once DD is at school (an idea thats been tossed around but always filed under "Only if necessary" by me. I like being a SAHM too much ;)). Somehow I think I'll be too worn out to do anything of a night so the whole house is going to be cleaned top to bottom, meals planned/prepared if possible this week and I'm going to make sandwiches up and freeze them ready for lunches next week, which reminds me, I need to add crisps to the shopping list

Off I go to do more washing....

Right now I'm sitting here at my desk having an OS lunch with lots of scrummy home-made food. It's far, far nicer than the pre-packaged rubbish I've been buying lately and much cheaper to boot. I'm especially impressed with my cake - even if I do say so myself - as it tastes just like one of the fancy Pret a Manger slices. Oooh, I do feel like a Domestic Goddess! I might even clean the flat from top to bottom when I get home this evening, now that I'm in the mood..........

    Afternoon my lovelies :D

Having a nice day off today to sit and wait for the delivery men to bring my washing machine. Bit stuck though as i *need* to go shopping and cant incase imiss them. Havent got anyone to sit in and wait while i nip out. Hoping they come soon before the shops shut... but im not holding my breath.

Will have to make do with what we have.

Made some sales one xtensions over the weekend, some ebay sales have gone through, and my health is back up to full scratch.

Wrote OH a nice lil poem as some bad stuff happened on saturday night while we were outclubbing for his birthday but i bottled it up and told him yesterday so not to spoil his party. The poem is to thank him for being a star.

Much love to you all and i will report back later :)

    Hi everybody!
Well the weekend ended up more OS than I had thought it would be. Managed to find time to make some delicious bottom of the fridge soup [basically every vegetable left over hiding in the dew bin!!] and then we went to visit my inlaws. The weather was lousy but we risked a trip into the town and discovered the lovely local museum [free!] and I found 2 tops for the small person in the charity shop. Yesterday I made rock buns and then sat on my big bottom watching Paula Radcliffe getting her gold before spending the evening finishing the painting on the landing. Quite a productive couple of days really. No OS today though as back to work and small person entertaining.....
    Regards

    Afternoon All,

I had quite a money saving weekend away - went camping for £9 a night and took homemade curry and lots of cookies and flapjacks (energy for walking across fields and putting up tent in pouring rain!). Was v.pleased as I managed to get OH to go on a 5 mile walk (1st time in 4 1/2 yrs) and he said he enjoyed it (surprised cos he's a Londoner...).

Today I'm at work while OH works on the kitchen. Rather than pay someone to fit it, he said he's do it. It's now 3 months since units were delivered and it's not finished yet, but I have to give him points for effort...

Have decided OH and I need a joint account cos at the mo. I end up paying all bills while he pays shopping and other daily expenses etc. This is no good cos he doesn't realise how much regular bills are costing, and keeps buying DVDs when we can't afford it. Grrr!

Time to go home and see how the kitchen is looking. I wonder if I'll find OH on the playstation.....
