    Hi all

We're planning to go to the WI Market in the next village this morning, see what they have.

Beautiful morning, still cool, but promises to be hot later. So I will be indoors where it's cool, finishing off the copy-typing for Wycliffe Associates. I do transcription in strange languages, one of my 'volunteer' jobs. B does photography assignments which they pay him for (well, they will when he finds out how to invoice them!) - photos of advertisement hoardings.

Our joint bank account has only £8 left in it but that's OK, that's the way we like it. Everything has gone through as planned this month and it's quite reassuring to know that the whole thing runs like clockwork.

    Best wishes to all

    Morning all :hello:

Well, OH has gone to work and I'm faced with the choice of a) doing my exercise video or b) doing the ironing. Tricky eh? :D

We've got turkey defrosting in the fridge for tonight's stir fry. It's going to end up 1% turkey and 99% veggies if I have my way! Mmmm, I do like a good stir fry though. Very yummy AND healthy. OH was pleasantly surprised at how much the salad that we had last night filled him up.

We're hopefully doing a car boot sale at the weekend, so I've got to carry on sorting out all my bits and pieces to be sold. Plenty of them, and hopefully stuff that people will buy - fingers crossed!

    Have a good day everyone.

    'Morning everyone

It's a beautiful sunny morning, I'm on holiday and today I plan to totally chill out :D

Just spent a few days in Northumberland ... what a beautiful and peaceful part of the world!

Now I'm back with washing to do and cooking and baking as youngest daughter ate her way through the supplies whilst we were away

I'm just about to have my breakfast, then I'll THINK about put on a wash, THINK about making some flapjack and will actually put in a leg of lamb to roast (this will provide us with at least 3 meals). I MAY catalogue my recipe books ... and there again I may not ;)

I may just sit in the garden this afternoon with a glass of wine and a good book :D Sheer bliss after the awful few weeks I've had at work lately!

Hope you all have a peaceful OS day!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Good Morning my lovelies.

Had a lazy morning today, slept in by about 45 mins, but it was ok, i can sart work at what time i like so it wasnt too bad.
Got my boots parenting club mag through today and there is a voucher for free 500 boots points so i went this morning to redeem it and buy a meal deal for lunch. The poor woman behind the counter looked so exasperated she had scanned it twice so i got 1000 free points, plus the points for what i bought. most excellent.

Made OH a lovely hm beef casserale and squashed potatoes lastnight which was gone in 30 seconds flat. hee hee. He had forgot to pay his parking in the morning and ended up with a £25 fine and he was really beating himself up over it, so, me being the good gf i am, i let him have all the meat and mash and i had a tiny portion of mash and gravy.

Tested the timer delay on the washer this morning so it started at 6am after we set it at about 10pm ish. its GREAT. mam approves too as she came to see it lastnight.

Garlic chicken breasts and savoury rice tonight for tea i think. yum. Our slow cooker is a bit on the blink i think, and as its about 30yr old and hasnt been used since till we got it about 6 month ago i think it cant cope and keeps messing casseroles up making them only fit to bin (which breaks my heart) Might treat myself to a new one and a BM. dunno if the BM will really be of much use to us.... and we havent exactly got room to keep it out on the bench. Will ponder on that.

Just having some toast with brown sauce on and a packet of apple wedges from boots so i shall report back later

    Morning!

This is the first morning I've managed to get a washload done and hung out to dry before I go to work! Yay! Normally I have just enough time to shower and dry hair, have breakfast and sort something out for lunch (my fault, I find it really hard to go to bed early). So this is great for me!

Also, as I'm being inspected by my letting agents this afternoon, I've offered to be there from 2:30 so they can come any time after that. This means I'll have the rest of the afternoon to myself, hurrah! I will be giving the tomatoes a good soaking, and watering other things. I've been very neglectful of the garden.
  • Morning everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Birmingham - too bad I'm stuck in an office going over spreadsheets. Yawn.

Well done Loadsabob on your busy morning. I managed to get a bit of ironing done this morning but it's a struggle to fit anything much in before work. If I got straight out of bed I would have loads more time but I normally have to hit the snooze button about three times before I can drag myself up! Am planning to spring into action as soon as I get home; quick clean and dinner in the over before my guests come round.

    Have a good day everyone!

Went shopping yesterday with DD and called in to see sis in her new house and ended up taking our brother shopping with me and then going back to my mums house to babysit him (he's only 13) until mum and sis got back to mums house.

I managed to get some bargins:
    - Bus pass for the day £2.10 (minimum busfare is now 90p:eek: I remember paying 35p!)
    - 1st class stamp & two packets of crisps 85p
    - Health food shop (much cheaper and open longer hours than I thought) 2 packets of Panda licorice bonbons 99p a pack
    - Charity shop 1 - 1 hardback copy of Bugs Life for DD 30p (paid for by her with her pocketmoney)
    - Charity shop 2 - 2 ladybird books 50p (DD paid again) and she got a free penguine biscuit from the lady behind the counter (the lady opened the multipack in front of me so I didn't mind as I knew nothing was likely to be up with it ;))
    - Cardwarehouse closing down for refurbishment sale : 2 cards (18th bday and "good luck in your new home" card) - won't say how much as recipient of one is a member here :rotfl:
    - Kwicksave - 2 packs of 12 presliced buns reduced, multipack of strawberry-and-cream-kitkats reduced, pack of 3 carton drinks = about £2
    - Superdrug : doublebed fitted cotton sheet (£4.99), 2 medicated chapsticks reduced to clear 75p each
    - School pants for DD (royal blue tracksuit bottoms size 22 ) £5.99 each as they are plain whereas the school wanted £8.50 a pair for the same but with the school logo on! I bought 2 (one on, one in the wash/ironing/wardrobe)
    - Charity shop 3 - 5 more ladybird books for DD (she bought them again) 99p
    - Fruit/veg shop : bag of ripe bananas (approx 7) 25p! 4 apples, bag of yoghurt coated raisins(99p) and bag mixed dried fruit (99p)

Free lunch when we got back to mums ;) and I got to read some of "Money Diet", access to broadband internet and sky TV :D only until about 6.30 but it was nice while I was there :rotfl:

So for today I'm hoping to get all the washing done, both clothes and dishes! I might do some weeding but DD is bored and is throwing a fit everytime I say anything to her lately  so I can't leave her alone too long as she's taken to throwing books and hitting the TV when the signal goes slightly (we loose the sound or the picture freezes as we have Freeview). I can't wait until next week when she goes away for a week but then I know that when she gets back she'll be just as bad (its all due to tiredness I'm sure) so I'm just going to say roll on 12th September or even better 3rd October when she starts school full time

Off to sort the washing thats on the line out before maybe trying to teach DD some games - can someone pass me the riot gear?

Ooh, I know. My alarm went off at 6:45 this morning, I snoozed it every five minutes until 7:30!! You'd think I'd get fed-up and just get up, but I didn't...I WISH I was more of a lark!

    hello all,

I've been off the web for a week and a half and it's going to take me longer than that to catch up with all you lot :D !

Not been very O/S or particulary money saving recently... not bad, just not particularly GOOD either...ah well, we pick up and we get on, hu?

I do have some GOOD news though, I seem to have got the job I interviewed for a month ago - they just need to do a wheen of background checks and stuff as I need clearence to do the job, so fingers crossed that all goes ok! It'd be great, much more to do (and much more of the stuff I LIKE to do!), more money, easier commute and better hours. Less holiday days but as I've had my last two requests here declined it's not much of a loss....

I think I need to look at doing the storecupboard challenge for the next couple of weeks... I've no room in the freezer and it badly needs defrosting - must sort it all out before I get my slow cooker!
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...
