Welcome back Suggsy, you were missed, and I'd say post it - it's part of life to go away, so it's good to help people see fluctuations are normal.

BTW, thank you so much for everyone's posts recently, I really am very touched. I'll reply properly soon but one-handed typing due to kitten at mo!

i've had a really rough few days, and not sure if i'll get to weigh in this week.
All I've managed to eat in 3 days is a bread roll and a bowl of rice. thankfully lucozade has become my new best friend!

Went to the chemist yesterday to get some more lucozade and dioralyte and almost passed out have worked out my blood sugar must have been way too low.

Will see if OH will take me to RC tonight just for a weigh in but he says if i'm no better then he won't, i'd expect a massive weight loss because of the lack of food etc but I know it's not a true loss so might bounce back up.

sounds similar to me, ive had toothache 3 times and flu, a cold etc for the last 3 weeks and havent eaten much. but hey, chin up and im sure all will be back to normal in no time :)

dont let it get ya down

    Morning All

Quick question, have weighed myself to find out the post HK gain? Should I post it? I ask as Missy did and if I recall she was horrified, maybe if I post my gain, it helps others?

    Thanks

Welcome Suggs and hello to everyone!! I am back from my trip to Belgium - land of chocolate and beer (of which I had plenty of both!) and after lots of soul searching I have gathered up my courage and reporting my weight gain of :o  :o  8 lbs !! :o  :o

I wasn't going to post it and leave it until next week but then I figured no point hiding my head in the sand - hopefully it will come off as quickly as it went on:rolleyes: :rotfl: !

Love to all and special mention to Bails - I really admire what you are doing - I think it is what naturally slim people do - they don't think constantly about what they are eating and how much they weigh. I will follow your progess with fascination! Please don't stop posting in this group, you are such a source of support and inspiration to us, it just wouldn't be the same without you!

    Love

Delly, a 3lb gain this week please. Entirely expected peeps, as I was the girl who ate all the pies at the weekend, plus mummy and daddy bears porridge:D . Had a delicious feast of my mums lovely cooking and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's now time to refocus on the SW plan and lose it again. NO negative language though: I was not 'naughty':D . I embraced the food and parents company with great pleasure. And ditto getting back to plan does not feel an ordeal, but a great way to balance the equation. Not very chatty today: lots of stress at the mo with BIG things to sort at home and its taking all my spare energy.
Granny -perhaps try not to let go completely before the hols, then enjoy your break and as efrieze said, get straight back on the forum on your return. Now probably isn't the time to re oomphify your self just before going away. Well done marion on your honest WI, and well done efrieze for getting backon track and seeing the overall picture since Xmas - that's brilliant to hear this is the longest you have 'maintained.'
Wecome back suggs - post the wi and refuse to panic but just get back to your usual routine:T . We can do this. We can have a life and maintain our weight loss and acknowlegde this means short term ups and downs :A
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

No, not horrified. Surprised it was so big when I'd done so much skiing but I had too good a time to be horrified, and a week back on the straight and narrow (plus the few lbs buffer I'd created beforehand) sorted it so no harm done.

I ate absolutely anything I wanted while I was away and I will do the same on the next holiday, even if I gain twice as much I know I can lose it again.

Let's post the holiday and other special occasion gains and then prove to each other that they are soon dealt with.

    A 1lb gain please Delly.

This is the second week running that I have gained. I just seem to have lost the enthusiasm for really monitoring what I eat. Advice, please, someone .... help. I'm away next week (south of france, in fact grannynise in Nice) so I wouldn't be trying very hard next week anyway. Maybe that's part of why I'm not tuned in now. But I'm scared that when I come back from the land of bread, cheese, wine and good olive oil I won't regain the oomph.

Enthusiam is a big thing, sometimes it is such an overwhelming need to fill one's belly but then it doesn't make it better does it? It doesn't solve anything just makes it worse, the only thing I know to get over it now and have learnt is do not deprive yourself at all because that makes it the enemy, just enjoy but don't go mad, portion it out, enjoy it, little gives pleasure without the guilt and the weight gain and all the negatives that come with it ,no need for masses.
Come back and try a whole next diet plan if you do WW try SW if you do atkins try one from a mag, if you don't exercise much try more , if you only eat set foods try eating every 3 hours to get the metabolism going like the lunch box diet, if you only eat meat or pasta try quorn , have salads for lunch with tuna, mix it up a bit, change it all around, change your plans, make a plan, make yourself look forward to it when you get back rather than a chore.

    suggs def post your gain.

Granny, I expect you're looking forward to your holiday (who wouldn't with somewhere as fab as Nice!!!) and maybe you've gone into a bit of 'wind down' mode already.

There's no way you'll undo all your effort so far, so enjoy the trip to the max, and once you come back the 'winding down' will be firmly in the past (unfortunately...!) so it should be a lot easier to refocus and go back to the diet with renewed energy.

Once you're at target and look back, all this will be is a little bump on the chart to say you had a good time, nothing to worry about!

good philosophy from bails there. OF couyrse, sometimes i am naughty, but I like that 'embracing the food' thing.

Jules, so sorry to hear you are poorly. Please don't go and weigh in. I weighed in whilst poorly with a vile gastro virus and was disappointed to not have lost weight. I was then worrying about what i ate, rather than listenig to my body and eating what i NEEDED at the time. Beanie, I don't know how to do al lthe smley things but I would if i could! If you need to share you know we are all thinking about you. Think about going out on the trike in the sunshine, that will cheer you up!

Claireabelle, I used to work at Chiquitos and always had burritos for my staff meal. I prefer enchiladas overall though - they are corn tortillas, not wheat, and often have more of a sauce.

Bails, don't torture me with talk of kittens! I want to see pics! have you seen the latest crusha ad? i like the one on the bike.
