I've been thinking about what Bails said, and wondering how much I define myself by my size/weight. The answer is, I don't think I do at all. Although I am proud of losing weight and shaping up, I haven't done it for appearance's sake perhaps as much as I thought I had.

The best thing about it, is that it makes me feel better within myself, not that I think it makes me look better. It feels more practical, more energising, and makes the chores of the day easier. Being a size 14 didn't hold me back from doing anything activity-wise, but being lighter and fitter means I can do things more efficiently and challenge myself more.

So I've realised my self-worth comes from what I do and what I have achieved, and my new size means I can achieve more so it's just a piece of the puzzle.

About receiving compliments - if you bat away a genuine compliment you're batting away the compliment-giver too and that's not very nice :p

    Hello

Im back but not in the land of the living! Neither the body or the mind is willing at this point in time! Got home from Hong Kong around 11.30pm last night after the joys of a near 13 hour flight. However the rugby was good, the guiness/pimms/vodka red bull was drunk in large amounts especially on the Sunday starting at 9am! So early as you need to get in the stadium at that time to get your seats for the south stand. We couldnt get in the south stand on the Friday or Saturday! England were knocked out in the quarter finals, New Zealand won it. All 16 of us that went, dressed in fancy dress, (about half the south stand dress for the occasion) this year we wore lederhosen and blonde wigs ;) plenty of people taking our photos, (yes I have some too ;) ) some of us even got on the gaint video screen.

So how are we all? Did you miss sweet little old me? I did one more session in the gym saturday morning, so that was three sessions in all, but I am not going near the scales for fear of what might be found out. Missy I feel your pain ;) Will aim to get back in the gym tomorrow.

Far too many posts for me to keep up with, you ladies certianly know how to chat :D So I will keep reading and seeing whats been occuring. In the meantime though....

Bails you gorgeous piece of female flesh you :) hope you stick around you seem to write some great words and your on such a great journey yourself, that I love reading about you. I dont say this much but you are inspiring to me. Thank you

missy, hate to say it, but told you so :p

Starlight, great result from you, well done

Sorry nuttygirl not a real big ska fan, the nick came about from my youth and working in a pub, I had spiky hair then and the regulars 'christened' me Suggs! Still he does well these days flogging fish fingers :)

Right Im off to get physio'd and cracked, then going to pick up MrsS from the airport, her and her DS are on their way back from Tenerife

    Bye for now

    ... (He's back folks, act normal ;) ) ...

Hey Suggs!!! Good to see you back - definitely stay OFF those scales for 24 hours... and preferably a week!

How have you coped with the time zone changes both ways? West to East does me in, but the other way it's OK. I think for most people it's the other way around.

    Welcome back x

    Thank you missy :)

To be honest I normally suffer with the East - West travel, usually on day 2 or 3 it all catches up with me and I can sleep for 12-14 hours. But this time I havent, in fact the best I managed in the whole week has been 5 hours, drunk or not! At one point I think I had 8 hours sleep in 3 days, So oddly enough it seems my body could not adjust. As I say normaly it does pretty well.

Now what you lot been aying about me?? ;) who missed me the most? ;)

somethign is drastically wrong with my notifications for this thread, i keep setting it to email me every reply and im lucky if i get one email every few days. whats going on?

anyway i have lost 2lb this week. hopefully next week it will be more.

ive currently lost all motivation and enthusiasm along with the loss of my energy :( so less time being spent at the gym though i am still managing my classes mostly which is something.
